• UB40 World Tour Set for 2019

From Black Panther@316:36/17 to All on Sun Nov 25 01:37:50 2018
UB40 is a pop/reggae band from the 80s that had quite the distinct sound and now, the entire world will be able to hear that sound once again. The band
has announced a new worldwide tour for 2019, so UB40 fans, you'll want to pay attention to this.

UB40, an English reggae band have hit over 100 million records sold and have had dozens of chart-topping singles including "Red Red Wine" and "(I Can't Help) Falling in Love With You." The band has had over 50 singles on the UK single chart and has been nominated for the Grammy Award for the Best Reggae Album.

Now, with the 40th Anniversary Tour, there is going to be a lot to celebrate. To mark the milestone, in addition to going on tour, the group will be releasing a new album, "For The Many", their 19th studio album.

The band will also be releasing two companion versions of "For The Many," as Brian Travers explains, "We have really enjoyed making this album, a huge amount of work went into it. It became a massive piece of work so, in
addition to the regular version of the album, there will be a dub version and
a collaboration version, featuring guest artists from all around the
    world."

"For The Many’ is a great mix of reggae styles, while the different artists we have collaborated with will appeal to more fans and tastes in reggae - it really is an album for the many," said co-vocalist and guitarist Robin Campbell.

"The 2019 tour is a continuation of our 40th year celebrations, as well as sharing tracks from our latest album. Twenty-three dates around the US instead of a few arenas means that our fans from all over the USA can get to see us much more locally and up close - truly a tour for the many."

In UB40 prime time, many of their songs hit #1 on the Billboard charts including "Red Red Wine," "Can't Help Falling In Love (From "Sliver")," "The Way You Do The Things You Do," "Here I Am (Come And Take Me)" and "I Got You Babe."

UB40's 40th Anniversary Tour will also kick off in early 2019, with shows across the U.S., the U.K., Europe and Australia. UB40 consists of Five of the Six founding members Robin Campbell, Brian Travers, Jimmy Brown, Earl Falconer and Norman Hassan in addition long-time members Duncan Campbell (vocals), Martin Meredith (saxophone), Laurence Parry (trumpet) and Tony Mullings (keyboards).

Unless you live in Texas, the 2nd largest state in the USA. The Dallas-Fort Worth area is the 5th largest media market in the US. All
the good bands are skipping Texas these days.

Not many of them come to New Mexico either... I guess having over 1 million people in the Albuquerque Metro area isn't enough for them to bother with...

The closest UB40 is going to be, is Tempe, AZ. I don't think I'll be driving
    8 hours to see them...

I've been to New York, Houston, and San Diego for concents in the last
2 years and going to be Phoenix for a concert next year for a concert. Some performers are must see acts.

    Yes they are.

It was just announced that Iron Maiden will be here Sept 19, 2019. I'm debating if I want to see that one.

Indeed. Thanks for letting me know. I've fixed it but I may need to
logout for the nntp session to pick up the change.

    That looks better... :)

I've been away for a bit. We were talking about concerts. I've booked a few since we last spoke. Talking of AZ, that's where I'm going to see Mark Knopfler this year. It was cheaper to get 4th row tickets in Phoenix than back row tickets in Dallas...now I just need to figure the flights.

Queen is booked in Dallas, 4th row. Lost 80's Live. Saw this show last year and I'd recommend it. 6 hours, lots of bands playing 3-4 songs.

Steve Hackett in Portland, OR. Taking the family for a mini vacation.

Please...no more bands/artists that I want to see this year, I'm running out of vacation hours!

Just as I was complaining that we don't get many good concerts in Albuquerque, this year seems to be packs with good ones...

    Mar 17 Slayer
    Mar 23 Queensryche
May 3 Slayer, Lamb of God, Cannibal Corpse
    Jun 29 REO Speedwagon
    Aug 9 Lynyrd Skynyrd
Aug 25 Heart, Joan Jett & Elle King
    Sep 11 Kiss
    Sep 19 Iron Maiden

I've decided that I need to take the rest of the year off... Paid... Wish me luck... ;)
