• Radio check. :)

Hey, has been quiet in here. What's everyone been up to, radio wise? For me, a couple of things. Firstly, I have been trying to get myself on ATV. I have excellent received signals (DVB-T) from the local repeater, with any old antenna I try.

Transmitting is proving to be a bit more challenging. I have a 1.2 GHz FMTV Tx, which is compatible with the repeater. I should be able to get at least 20W out of the system, but going by the PA current draw, it's more likely around 5W maximum. I don't have test gear for 1.2 GHz to directly measure power. The driver seems to be down in output, from what I can tell. In any case, I can't quite get a signal into the repeater. Looks like I need to work on the antenna.

I've also been flying the flag publicity wise. I took part in the local Easter parade with a cycling group. 3 of us were a subgroup who are setup to operate from our bicycles, we were able to be reached during the parade, and there were even a couple of calls. :)

I've also been able to bring some tech minded kids in on some of my tinkering, so who knows, maybe we'll see more hams in the future. :)

    And what about everyone else?

I'm currently building a QRP Labs U3S WSPR/QRSS transmitter. It has the 6
band relay and the OCXO crystal oven and the GPS module. I've been dragging
in building it as I hate winding inductors. They are easy but just a pain. Hopefully this week I'll get it finished up.

on ATV. I have excellent received signals (DVB-T) from the local repeater, with any old antenna I try.

I have a few 70cm ATV transmitters, but no one does it around here. I'd love
to have a play with a DVB-T setup. I just need to find a partner in crime to play radio.

Cool, and yeah, winding coils isn't my favourite pastime either! :D Hope it all works out.

My transmitter is FM, the repeater is FM in on 23cm and DVB-T out on 70cm. The output is rock solid around town, but struggling to get a signal into the repeater. :(

I am actually a sysop but not a HAM. I joined up hoping that some of my
users, who are HAMs, would participate. I guess they are busy with their radios these days. :)
