• Projects for 2017

From Tony Langdon@432:1/100 to All on Fri Jan 6 23:04:11 2017
Does anyone have any radio projects in mind for 2017?

As for me, I have a couple to tackle. Firstly, I have a 5 GHz AV transmitter and receiver in front of me. These are normally used for drones, but I am looking at using them as a transmitter link for my 1250 MHz ATV transmitter.
I have configured the modules as close as possible to an ATV channel in the 6 cm band.

The other project is to get packet radio up and running, running AX.25 and
IP. I have a HAMnet allocation (/24), part of which will be allocated to the LAN for supporting services, and part will be for RF for VHF and possibly
    HSMM mesh.

So who else has something on the go for 2017?

    Get Hamnet setup better.
Actually we are doing it right now: http://hamnetdb.net/?m=as&q=oe1xaw&as=-All-&tab=&osm=1

    Cool ...
I should get my LimeSDR in february.
And they just disabled DVB-T1 ... so I have a receiver which is sitting around uselessly, and a SDR transceiver ... hmmm ;)

AX.25 is also interesting ... just need to gather more motivation to tackle it.

    Hi Tony!

Acvtually I wanted to copy this link:

It is a map of the HamNet nodes.
Antennas are on the big RF Tower: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funkturm_Wien-Arsenal

Nice. :) I probably won't get the high speed stuff outside my back yard, population density and topography won't permit that. Low speed AX-25 is going to be more viable.

Fun, fun. :) I have to try and find a set top box that can receive 446.500 MHz, so I can monitor the DVB-T output of the local repeater. At the lower frequency, I should get plenty of signal. The 2.4 GHz analogue output is marginal, with the poor path and wifi interference.

I used to run an IP and NET/ROM gateway back in 1991, I'm slowly getting back on BPQ (Using LinBPQ now). Have to get some AXIP wormholes happening. :)
