    I know the Oscars are easy to hate but im watching them tonight :)
    They only come around once a year. That seems to be the story over the years that more and more folks are like : The Oscars - |04UGH|07

    I stopped watching awards shows many years ago because of the bullshit they spew while "accepting" an award. Just say "Thank you!" and get the hell off the stage. Don't go on a rant about something completely unrelated.

    I'd love to tell them, "you're an entertainer....I don't care to know your views so shutup and do your job entertainer."

    Yeah it's just gotten insane. I don't understand how they can be so fucking racist and get away with it. If I tried being racist the other way I would be locked up within minutes.

    Gotta use those 15 minutes wisely.

    I think the moment that award shows lost relevancy for me was when Jack Valenti, then head of the MPAA, came out at the Academy awards to talk about how piracy was killing the movie industry. Kind of an ironic soapbox when you think about it.

    Valenti famously told a congressional panel in 1982, "I say to you that the VCR is to the American film producer and the American public as the Boston strangler is to the woman home alone."

    I guess he didn't see the market in home video sales.

    LOL i didn't know this... very funny. My first VCR was a fisher brand and
    cost slightly over $700 .. shot myself in the foot on that one. Not to
    mention all the shop repair bills.
