After a botched HDD cloning attempt, I am finally back online... But, that said, I now have a good image of my hdd on a few other drives.

On a more personal level, make sure you have your important documents duplicated in more than one place, as having them confiscated for investigation will make your operating difficult until they are returned.

I always keep copies on paper, removable media of various sorts and formats, onsite and offsite. I do NOT use the cloud and never will. Any off site server I use I have control of.

Also, when I say removable media of various formats, I am talking about 1970s to today. Cassette Tapes to flash drives and some tihngs in between.

If the information is sensitive, I don't store it on any network connected PC, if I do store it on a PC at all. If I do decide to store sensitive data on a PC, I encrypt the data - either the FS or the file itself. Sometimes I don't even use the FS, though this isn't inheritly more secure.

I used to do this for my Telehack notes (me and my room mate at the time used to "play" around on telehack). I would store my notes in raw data to a floppy drive using a disk editor. Not secure, but obscure. You take that same floppy and try to access it as a regular user would, you would see an empty directory with no data.

I store my paperwork in areas I deem safe. I am well aware the FBI would search anywhere and everywhere on my property (and properties I own) if I am in their crosshairs. That said, I have never come across any reports where the FBI seeks after multiple copies - they just find what they need to build a case on you.

The FBI raid of (any) former President's home is Brownshirt level mischief.

That a pResident claims they had no foreknowledge of the raid, casts a dark shadow on the mechanisms directing the FBI.

The whole event is about trying to silence Trump.

"Toe the line, or the FBI will crush you" is the message sent.

What the crewcut and white socks boys do not understand, is we the people see through their games, understand that they are an opponent to the Republic, and will not tollerate their Bananna Republic games.

The most frustrating thing about this for me is just the raw hypocrisy.

You want to raid Trump and you have the necessary evidence to get a warrant? Fine. However, even with *evidence* the fact that nothing happened with any of the obvious crimes of "their team" shows that this is just the weaponization of power against their enemies.

Using the FBI (or ATF) as a tool of intimidation is nothing new, unfortunately.

This problem is one we recognize from the local beat cop who gets a bit "badge-heavy" on up.

There is even a "hierarchy among badges" sort of game in the LEO (Law Enforcement Officer) world.

Open use of the entire actual organizations to play "badge-heavy" fortunatley until now has been fairly rare, possibly excepting the mechanations of Hoover's FBI.

Now is it happening over and over, in the light of day, and with few reprocussions.

Our world is NOT the better for this mischief, and it mocks the mechanisms of government at most every level.

I'll point out the one organization that goes completely against your premise - the ATF. The ATF has been shooting dogs and stomping cats for decades. They plant evidence and use intimidation at every turn to get what they want.

To a lesser extend the TSA is the same way, they're just the Special Olympics version without guns and a limited jurisdiction.

They do stand out, don't they?

Perhaps my statement comes from a generalized feel that where it was exceptional to be manipulated or manhandled by TPTB, it has become the norm.

Look at Michigan where the FBI's female agent provocateur did drugs and slept with the person they were said to be setting up. That is called a "Honey Trap" and while intel agencies play the sex manipulation game, it is very uncommon to use hooker-antics for criminal cases, and not to create the criminal intent.

No idea if the guy was really not so smart and possibly an Incel as some sources say, as that further complicates the passionate actions of the FBI.

Drugs and Sex are the very tools terrorist organizations use to recruit, retain and motivate. At least that was how the European Terrorist groups did it.
