• Write Protected Flash Drives

Do you live in the generation that had floppy disk drives? You could move a tab or punch out a tab that would render that media write protected (where
data can not be written to the disk). For the last few decades this feature was unavailable to customers of data storage solutions. There have been attempts made at securing drives with fingerprint scanners, but once you unlocked these drives you would have your media open to being written to and contracting malware. Well, now there is a solution to that! Enter the
Kanguru FlashBLU30. Their 128 gig flash stick retails on Amazon.com for $95 USD and offers a physical switch that either enables or disables write access to the flash drive. This is a quick and effective way of making certain that no data will be written to the drive, and the drives are of a dark gray color that really looks attractive. So now, if you need a storage solution that
can prevent writes to your storage you have the ability to buy something that fits that bill.

Many years ago I bought an external DVD-R from Kanguru and it didn't work
very well. They've had a decade to improve on their technology and this item does not have anything to do with the DVD-R that I had bought, but be warned that the company doesn't have a fully good reputation. With the time that has passed, and the total difference in product, I would suggest that you give Kanguru a try. If you happen to buy one of these please write in this echomail area about your experiences with this fun gadget.

    Best regards,
    warmfuzzy
