Are you wanting to get into computer security and have already passed the Security+ certification... well here enters the CASP cert. (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner). It is a mid-range certification, something between
the Security+ and CISSP certifications. You can go to Audible.com and buy
the course on CISSP exam answers and apply those skills to the CASP. This is
a coveted computer security certification. Its new, having only been out a
few years, but is a game changer for those who want to prove that they really know what they know in CompSec, without having to meet the ridiculous requirements of CISSP, which requires so much proof of this or that, that it is too much trouble for most people to meet all the excessive requirements. So lets say you want a career in computer security; you want the following:

    BASIC: A+, Linux+, Security+, Network+
REQUIRED: CASP, LPIC1/2, and a Windows Server cert.

That will get you employed in many different employment opportunities. A two year diploma in Computer Networking and Technical Support and a post-grad
cert. in computer security wouldn't hurt either, but the BASIC and REQUIRED fields above will get you into an entry-level job in computer security.
