• Free-Agent Intelligence Workers

What happens when a person goes out and decides that they want to work in the intelligence community on their own? If a normal recruit works for a foreign power and they get in trouble for doing something or other illegal on behlf
of the foreign power in question because they're acting as an agent of some country somewhere ... well they get in serious trouble for acting against a state. In the new distributed global citizen of this most interconnected
world it is now possible for the enterprising intelligence worker to be a
"free agent" like in sports where they represent themselves and not
necessarily any nation state. Agencies have stated that between 80-90% of information needed to do their jobs comes from open sources, so that enterprising information worker can simply tap into the same public sources
for information and be 90% as capable as the "real" spooks. With a bit of networking in the IC (intelligence community) the independent IO can be quite effective at spook-type jobs, possibly increasing that 90% up to 95% with the aid of some friends in the social network. I'm not promoting the idea of anything criminal, rather I'm stating that it is now possible to work on your own as a contractor to a securiy service or to totally go it alone and do
good works in secret that help the security of society out of sight.

If you want change why not be that change?
