• Fentanyl: Murder By Recreation

In the USA there has been more deaths by ingestion of Fentanyl than there have been by many other types of deaths combined. Fentanyl is 50 times more potent than Heroin, and "just a quarter of a milligram can kill someone" [CNN.com]. According to CDC over 5,500 people per year die from Fentanyl.

What this piece is on is not so much hating on the Fentanyl, but the
accusation that the drug dealers should be responsible for the deaths of the people they sell the drug to. If a person hands a suicidal person a loaded
gun and the person kills themselves it would be obvious that the person who gives the gun would be guilty of some sort of crime. However, when people overdose on Fentanyl people put the blame on the drug user. Giving Fentanyl
to a person is like giving them a loaded gun. The drug dealers know that the drug can and has killed many people. In my opionion the drug dealers should
be held responsible to the murder of the consumers of their drugs. If
someone gives someone else a drug that kills them they should receive the
blame for their deaths. To me its not that there were more than 5,500 people killed this year by Fentanyl, rather it is that there are hundreds of drug dealers guilty of murdering their customers. One thing to note that is important is that the consumers of the drug rarely know that they are
ingesting Fentanyl, but its "cut" into the more common street drugs that they purchase, which on their own are far less dangerous than Fentanyl. So few people actually seek to buy Fentanyl, but rather have it mixed with their
    usual product purchase.

    Just my thoughts...

Let me know what you think...
