From Otto Reverse@80:774/20 to All on Mon May 10 06:42:12 2021
I'm having a hard time finding a Win95 driver for my ISA Sportster modem. You'd think it'd be easy. It is a 000840-01 or 000840-02 model of the Sportster and the driver is mdm3com.inf. The problem is USR's ftp site is down and any of the shady driver sites I've found have that driver for later hardware versions (mdm3com.inf is also a commonly used filename for various drivers).

This is the product page: https://unicom.usr.com/support/product-template.asp?prod=840

and this is the non-working ftp to the driver: ftp://ftp.usr.com/usr/dl07/mdm3com.inf

I've had no luck with archive.org either. I'd appreciate any tips on where to look as web searches are failing me.

    Cheers,
    Doug

    Try driverguide.com maybe.

    Try driverguide.com maybe.

Thanks. I've avoided that site because of their shady "update all drivers" download thing. But I see there is a small check box to just download the drive. I'll give it a try.

Any joy? If not then I'll hunt around my boxes of disks. I know I have at
least 1 or 2o USR modem disks.

I have files saved on my old BBS backup here.
I can upload them to my server for you if you want to try to grab them and
see if they work for you.

Mine are dated from 1998, so they may still work for you.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I did eventually find a driver.

Sorry for the late reply. Don't even remember why I "disappeared" after posting my request for help (aliens?). I did find a driver that worked eventually.
