• Atari 1050 Diskettdrive PSU

    Hey there.

I think this topic will be an old one, but i am trying to get a Eurpean PSU
for the Atari 1050 Diskette Drive. I got myself an Atari 800XL and finally i found a cheap drive, but without a PSU.

So ich searched the net and found out the drive needs 9V and min. 2A to run.
So i got myself a nice new PSU with 9V and 3A. But it wouldn't work. Just
    Power LED is lighted up.

Then i figured it out, i need an AC PSU! Ok, all my PSU are DC. Hm, there are 9v AC PSU out htere but mostly with 0,4A or mx. 1A. Much too less for the drive.

I now ordered a 240V to 9V transformator so i have to build up my own
    personal PSU for that drive.

Hope this will work and hopefully the drive will work.
Or have somebody in Europa a spare Atari 9V PSU for me and my museum?

    Regards
    Andreas

The PSU for the old Nintendo Entertainment System fits and works with the
1050. Not sure if that tidbit of info is helpful to you...
