• Best Apple II Terminal Program

From QBiN@80:774/98 to All on Thu Nov 12 21:01:39 2020
Just polling all the Apple fans out there. As a new-to-me Apple IIe and IIgs owner, what is the best terminal program available for dialing BBS's on
    those two systems?

ProDOS is fine. GS/OS could be interesting. Hopefully something that understands ANSI. Regardless, what do people regard as the best term
programs out there for the 8/16bit Apple world?

I used a Apple II for years, but don't currently own one. Everything Apple II for me is currently emulated mostly via microm8.

Me too! Except it was on Apple //. It was maybe elementry school, some sort of summer school program my mom enrolled me in. A computer class or something.
And the programming part was to learn LOGO and draw shapes and crap. We would use it to draw a million circles.

    Rememberberries!

I use virtual ][ on macos and AppleWin on windows.

is there a good Linux apple emulator?

I wish I could understand KeGS and the other GS emu but it doesn't seem to work.

Most recently I have been questing for getting GBBS Pro installed on Virtual ][
    - I always wanted to be a SysOp but was stuck with AsciiExpress remotes back in the day. I tried to get GBBS ][ working but my DOS version of that was hosed. Anyway ... memories!

Did you find a terminal that deserves the 'best' title? I've been using Proterm on my Apple IIc, but it forces 80-column mode, which only looks good when I have the apple ii plugged into a 1084S (sacrilege!). I'd actually like to find something that works with 40-column mode so I can use it with a composite to vga adapter. (1084S is great, but desk space is limited.)

I am writing this on an Apple //gs using MegaTerm with full Ansi! One down side is the arrow keys do not work so using certain menus is very hard. LOL

Just thought I would chime in being the subject fit my current connection.
