So I have a PC Tower running windows 10 on it, it will load up
and then load up WinUAE for me and I have my Amiga. Is there away to
boot right to the emulated Amiga? Leave all the resources available for the Amiga and not the hogging Win10? Of course the PC will need the drivers loaded for the hardware and such so WinUAE can access them. I would like to convert a laptop over to strictly run WinUAE.
I did do some reading and found away to boot directly to AmigaOS on a Windows XP system. But it takes away the F12 option once it is set up. I am looking more into this.
Well, the best Emulated PC I have found use WinUAE and ClassicWB.On Wed 2-Jan-2019 7:16p, Spitfire@80:774/69.0 said to Necromaster:

I am finding that FS-UAE is hella more stable than WinUAE is.. and you CAN minimize the windows without it going into an error loop .. and FS-UAE
runs
on all platforms (UAE/E-UAE forks are junk) .. I am using FS-UAE for the Amiga side now.
If you would, a step-by-step tutorial would be a magnificent thing to publish on your bbs and facebook. Imagine how many more Amiga laptops there would be if someone published a guide. It might spare the landfill with still useable laptops. I'd be happy to publish this on my board and facebook page as well.
Check out Dan's PDF on WinUAE settings for CNet/5 .. they are pretty sane settings
I've wanted to try FS-UAE for some time now. Yes, it is beyond
irritating to minimize the WinUAE window just to see that it crashes moments later. Are you running a BBS on it?
K-Guide recommends starting WinUAE with administrative control, which is
not sure what time you'll be online with it. i'll check later and tomorrow.
I'm weird that way lol .. I'm eccentric I guess :D
You have to right click on WinUAE.exe and set it to always run with administrator priveleges.. but if you want it to autostart without asking for
permission you have to disable UAC (user access control) in windows so it will
not prompt for administrative rights
well that's not safe a safe thing to do now is it? I guess it will be ok on my WinUAE server but nothing else.

I have just about all of my computers UAC turned off.. To me it's a extra annoying step anytime you want to do something. The way I see it, I have both an AntiVirus and a Firewall running plus password protected login.
If anyone wants in they can have at my stuff..
I'm with Spitfire here on this.. I am running WinUAE on a i3 with only 4gigs of RAM and a 250gig HD.. AmigaOS 3.9 plain jane, runs real well, hasn't crashed since I took the BBS and Emulator off a Virtual Box and
AOS 4.1... That was back in September.. If I don't reboot the machine or system for any reason I could run it non stop with no issues..
I have set up workbench in FS-UAE and running WB3.1, would like to know how to get AmigaOS 3.9 and 4.1 as they look very nice and would love to play with them.I will be setting up a Amilator machine soon it uses FS-UAE so I will let you know how that goes, it's supposed to boot right into AMigaOS without ever seeing Linux at all.. As for 3.9 and 4.1 I bought 4.1 from Amiga on the sea
So far, I figured out how to get Workbench 3.1 installed, and I also as
an added bonus figured out how to get Dopus installed. Pointers, advice and/or help is appreciated too =)

I never knew it until I was rutting around software she was selling and found the Amiga 3.9 OS CD and I asked her! Between us I am sure with a
Getting software installed is the easy part, it's like windows in the
fact that you double click a install file and answer questions.. Getting it configured to look good well that's another thing. Right now My Amiga

Bucko, man you have some cool finds around you!
I have been toying with the idea of putting up C-Net Amiga and this conversation is really fueling that idea! Hmmm.....

I did some more reading up on it today, I am really looking forward to trying it out. By the looks of it all I have to do is use the program setup the HD for it and install AOS! We'll see how easy it goes though.. LOL

Well please keep us updated on this adventure, would enjoy seeing how it all goes and I know I will pick up some knowledge from your experience
of it. ;)
Amiga on the Lake is the name of the shop. Aaron is a great guy and
does a lot to try to help the platform. He's also branching out into carrying hardware for other retro platforms as well. The website is
well worth a look.

Yup that's the place.. Aaron was phenominal when I bought AOS4.1 from
him. I don't see myself buying any hardware unless he has a great deal
on the Vampyre Stand alone.. I just can't see spening $600 plus on a
box the size of a pI... I am emulating every OS on 1 PC and they work great.. Maybe if I hit the lotto I will buy the A1500.. ;)
