So recently I have been trying to get TI99 emulators to work with my WiModem 232 to connect to BBS's. I was going to be out of town and did not want to
lug real iron with me. I tried using CaDD PC99w and MAME TI99. I was unsuccessful on both. I got close but could not get communication working
with the WiModem232. Has anyone successfully got the emulator serial connectivity to work with BBS's? If so, would you be willing to work with
me, so that I could learn how to do the same? Thank you in advance!

Yes, I have tried with the WiModem232, but I did with a serial port on a Windows computer running Mame64. I run MAME from the command line making sure I have a -serl1 socket.locahost:10000 line in the batch file I launch MAME from

Prior to this, you must launch from another command line the following line:

java -jar tiimagetool.jar BRIDGE COM1 10000

After you launch the java applet, then you can launch MAME.

Let me correct myself. I'm not sure I have tried connecting the WiModem232
to MAME, but I did connect tha Lantronix network interface that behaves like
a modem. The connection settings I gave in the earlier email are the
settings I used.

I'm not sure if the WiModem and WiModem232 behave the same, but there is a default baud rate you need to connect initially with the WiModem232. Then,
you can send a command line to the WiModem232 to set it to a specific baud rate.

With a TI-99/4A, I am guessing the emulation may limit you to 2400 baud,
maybe 4800 baud. With the Geneve, I am able to configure the WiModem232 to 19200 baud with a program I have been using.

Most terminal emulator programs should be good at 2400 baud. Anything above 2400 depends upon how well the terminal emulator program is written.
