I think the main reason for that is it runs at 2mhz, and it is using a uIEC/SD which without JiffyDos on the main computer is just a big 1541.. Not sure if it
runs at a higher speed then 2400.. Commodore users are used to that, I currently run 3 Image boards, 1.2, 2,0 and the new 3.0. The only one not running at at least 20mhz is the 3.0 which runs on a Lt Kernal clone and although not as fast as the turbo mode machines runs pretty well..

Although slow, getting a CNet 128 board online with Telnet is a feat in itself and I throw props at Spitfire for doing that..

I'll bet it is. the C64 board was what I expected but the 128 board was (Piss me off) slow lol. I had to "drop carrier". I remember if someone "dropped carrier" on my C64 board running
Image 2.0 the board would freeze up. lolHusTler Havens BBS

Actually, the carrier drop on 2.0 was a Vice issue if you were running in
Vice. Vice had no DCD detection or DTR detection, so what would happen is the BBS would sit there until the caller idle timed out, my 2.0 board which runs
in Vice still does that as I use BBS Server and VSPE to get it connected instead of TCPSER which contrary to popular belief does not do file transfers well and I need file transfers for the NISSA Network. The latest Vice incarnations handle DCD and DTR pretty well, as I have a few test systems running at 38.4k and they detect and drop carrier properly. If I could find a true virtual null modem cable that I can connect the pins myself I would be able to disconnect pin 6 (DSR) and use the latest Vice and have carrier protection.. Working on a Linux solution, as I got BBS Server running in
Linux for real com ports (or ttySx ports) but have yet to find a cable solution..

I do run JiffyDOS on both systems using the uIEC/SD drives. C-Net 128 just is a mess and it is slow. It needs to be re-built, but I am not the one for that. I was lucky enough to get it up and running as is.

Welp that killed that idea.. I was on it yesterday, didn't seem to dreadfully slow. It ran pretty decent.. I think the main slowness is like all systems
not on a Lt Kernal or CMD Hard drive is drive access. The only reason my
Image 1.2 board on the uIEC/SD is decently quick is because the CPU is
running at 24mhz. The way I see it is the 128 version passed from 1 person to the next after Ken Pletzer sold it off, I think theres been like 5
programmers on it. Like you said it's a mess but at least you got it running.
I tried in Vice a few months back and gave up on it after an hour. Although,
I just might come and download it as my cousin wants to put his old board
back up and he was running CNet 12.0 originally then Image, but he doesn't
want to run Image this time around because he wants to be different from the pack. Maybe I will send him to the 128 Version of CNet if we can get it
running in Vice.. Worth a shot..

I found a few archives and was sent one. Had to tput them together to get all the files. Some were missing the internet/networking files. One was missing the This Day In History files. So they are all in one archive now on my Amiga BBS. I was hoping Dan would put together a CNet 128 package like he did with C-Net64.

Guess I Will stop by and pick it up, he was interested.. Jeez. Since he will
be running it on my cloud, I get to put it all together for him! Then he gets to take all of the credit for it. LOL
