I was over at the microcenter mall yesterday and they have the pi four with two
megs of memory on sale for $28.00 if you have one within driving distance.

I grabbed one for a retropie build, sweet!

I keep hearing all these MicroCenter deals, and wish I had one close to me - but I live in Portland, Oregon. UGH. Those were good buys - I would have bought
    a few!!

Glad you got one, and that sale is a good deal no matter which Pi you pick! The
lowest prices I've seen, like... ever. :P

That is a great deal.. I should take a ride to my local one tomorrow and see if
they have any left.. It's worth it just to pick up a couple of them just to have in case you want to do something with one..

A local computer store? I'm so jealous! It's been so long I can't even remember what that's like. I even miss Radio Shack.

The MicroCenter deals this black Friday were all great - I always try to have a
few Pi's around for projects and they always end up in use.

I wish we had a MicoCenter here, because I hear that they stock a LOT of hardware for makers and builders. I think that Portland, OR and Austin, TX (two
places I've lived...) are both a viable place for a maker/builder hardware and
    accessories store. Hmmmmmmmmm...

MicroCenter is a computer store and they stock all types of maker stuff.

I used to love Radio Shack, and wonder if they ever knew that I was building boxes when I'd be hunting for certain part #s and... lol. I bet tons of people did the same; I was just pretty young. Radio Shack was awesome when we were kids... however, I don't think they can shake a stick at some of the [awesome] online warehouse options we have in 2o2o!

I have one that is about 40 minutes from me, not far when it is only 15
minutes from work. They have everything. I go there probably 3 or 4 times a month, they give away 32 gig usb sticks, and 32gig SD Cards every couple of weeks if you sign up with an email address. So I open a GMail account get the coupon and go get a couple. I have about 10 now! LOL the SD cards come in
very handy for my pi' and the USB sticks are great for everything else..

Yep same here, I remember going to RS as a young lad and eyeballing the electronic project kits. You could build a real radio or some counting circuis with a couple logic chips and lights in the circuit. Those were the days.

Very very cool, Bucko - I can't tell you how many times I've paid full price for an SDCard at Best Buy or the like - and i never learn to just order them before the fact. :/ Derp.

I did just order some high capacity A1s from the Black Friday sales - so thats good... however, I could use 5&5 32g and 64g cards... heck, even some 16g for small projects.

Anywho I don't have a Micro - so Amazon and me are doing the dance!

    cheers..

Most of the time me too.. When I first got my SD Reader for my Commodore, I bought 2 32gig SD Cards from Amazon, I don't remember the cost on them but
when I figured out the MicroCenter scam I should have waited! LOL Live and learn... LOL

True, but I miss being able to walk in to places and just browse. That's always something I miss when shopping online for books and music as well.

I just need to win the lottery and retire and I can do that type of stuff full time! Think of having the time and funding to find and build every kit you ever saw and wanted to but couldn't, work on every computer project you didn't have enough time for. :) :) :)

Must.......win.......lottery.......(actually playing it might help too)

Because of this whole Covid disaster, I hate going to MicroCenter, you can't get into the store unless they take your temperature, you must wipe your hands in disenfectant, and answer the 4 questions of death! LOL BUT I can't stay away
I go as much as I can!!!!!

Yea; almost too much... but you can even design a board and they have the blueprint files available for all their board parts; so you can use a PCB app and make your own boards, choose and purchase chips there and use their blueprint files to populate a PCB file - get that printed up and wham bam - you
just designed your OWN Pi hats.

And, they have other things that are less work-intensive too. I like and use DigiKey a lot.... theres plenty of others. Alibaba is good for cheep China parts; Adafruit if you don't wanna work at all. :P
