running, I'll set up Peer Networking and try it. I'm about to do a
whole bunch of experimenting and learning with the new BBS box.

I've tried this a few times, to get the OS/2 box to talk to the Win10
boxes over PTP, I think I got it close a few times but gave up and just
went back to FTP. Might be worth trying again though. And it's not
OS/2's fault. Win10 has just changed so much for peer networking that
Samba seems to have problems handshaking with it.

Have you set W10 to use LMv1? If not, SMB (Peer Networking) will not work properly, same with Samba.

Try reading this website: https://tinyurl.com/xvx27h5j (microsoft.com)

This explains about the LM versions and how to force Windows 10, via registry modification, to do your bidding. <G>

Good luck and let me know how it goes for you.

    I think I did, but it's been a year + since I tried it.

I'll give this a whirl to see if I can get it working. I would be nice
to have instant access rather than having to FTP stuff.

yes.. i don't believe even windows xp can talk to 10 anymore. they've
started to remove a lot of legacy support as the bbs world knows well.

The legacy support is there but it's all in registry settings that are not well-advertised. It's deliberate obfuscation which is business as usual for M$.

    Later,
