    Hi everyone,

So I decided I was going to renew my ArcaOS subscription. I was going to until they charged me a $63 "late fee", bringing the total to $128, which is the equivalent of my buying a brand-new license. I'm sorry but I am not going to pay a second time for something I already own. I can understand $65 a year but nope, as much as I like Arca, not worth it. Now their driver subscription for $45 a year isn't bad because they do update a lot of stuff. That's worth it.

But with my having Warp 4.52, eCS 1.2MR, and eCS 2.0, all legal licenses, sitting here, ArcaOS just isn't worth it anymore. Maybe if I was making $70K a year and using ArcaOS for my primary operating system but for a BBS? No thanks.

    Gah.

I did buy that HP Z210 workstation off of eBay. Should be here sometime next week.

Arca Noae is less approachable than Serenity Systems (who made
eComStation). I am going to try to shoehorn Warp 4.52 on the new
machine as ArcaOS really has a lot of extra cruft that isn't needed
for a BBS. If I was using ArcaOS as my "daily driver", sure, but in
this case, less is better. I have learned enough working with ArcaOS
for what I need for my BBS and what I don't.

    Later,

Thank you, sir. Once I get Warp installed, the rest should be easy (famous last words).

Wow, that does suck, they should refund it for sure.

But with my having Warp 4.52, eCS 1.2MR, and eCS 2.0, all legal

agreed, There is not that many reasons really to keep ArcaOS for
personal use Warp and eCS works fine. I do have 2 ArcaOS licenses, but
I haven't paid for support in a few years.

    Nice! Another toy! :)
