    W1AW Operating Schedule

W1AW, the callsign of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) founder,
Hiram Percy Maxim, graces the station of the ARRL Headquarters, in
    Newington, Connecticut.

The station transmits Morse Code practice, digital, and voice (phone) bulletins of interest to amateur radio operators throughout the day,
Monday through Friday, U.S. Eastern Time.

    Modes And Frequencies (MHz)

    CW and Voice are on portions of the 160, 80, 40, 20, 17, 15, 10, and
2 meter bands. RTTY is on all of the above bands, except for 160 meters.
    All frequencies are in Megahertz.

    CW: 1.8175 3.5815 7.0475 14.0475 18.0975 21.0675 28.0675 147.555

Code practice texts are from QST, and the source of each practice is
given at the beginning of each practice and at the beginning of
    alternate speeds.

Qualifying Runs are on the same Morse Code frequencies as the Morse Code transmissions. U.S. West Coast Qualifying Runs are transmitted on
approximately 3.590 Mhz by K6YR. See the "Contest Corral" section in
each issue of QST for the exact schedule for the Qualifying Runs for each month.

For these qualifying runs, underline one (1) minute of the highest speed
that you copied, certify that your copy was made without aid, and send it
to ARRL for grading. Please include your name, callsign (if any), and
complete mailing address. Fees range from $7.50 to $10...depending on
whether you desire "endorsements", or a certificate.

    W1AW Operating Schedule

Operating times are the same local times throughout the year, unless
your area does not do the time change to/from Daylight Savings Time (DST)
that the U.S. observes (DST from the second Sunday in March to the first
    Sunday in November). During DST, U.S. Eastern Time is UTC -0400 hours;
the rest of the year, U.S. Eastern Time is UTC -0500 hours. For U.S.
time zones that are on Standard Time year round, the local time is ONE
HOUR EARLIER, when the rest of the U.S. is on Daylight Savings Time.
