Back in the 20th century I ran my BBS with Renegade & D'Bridge. I don't remember if I had to use GEcho or similar to process the echomail. When I think back DB tossed all the mail and Renemail imported them in to Renegade but for the life of me I cannot remember if I am correct or just have fake memories.

You would be correct. Thats how its worked here on mine, for decades now.

I see RG works on Win10 64bit as I installed it. Is there issues running external programs like doors under DOSBox from RG?
Ah, those were the days. Thanks, it was more that 25 years ago. 3 boards, ca forwarding, accessing a 50km radius around my main system.

1.25/DOS should work fine under DOSBOX with 64bit windows. Doors should run fine as well. I am under Win10 32bit normal cmd.exe and we run just fine.

Not that I know of, and NTVDM64 might be a better environment 64-bit Windows since as the name implies, it closely replicates NTVDM.

I've given serious thought to dropping all kludges, just to piss off the self-appointed Kludge Police in another net...
Yes it would work fine. I was refering to running RG in Win10 64bit and running external programs from RG calling DOSBox to run 8/16bit programs li most doors from times gone by (Sunrise Doors, OOII, etc).
Just was wondering if RG may have some issues calling DOSBox.
What ver are you running? That 1.20/Win32 build is shit .... it's half assed. So watch if you are running it. But I don't see RG having any issues calling doors from a vertual drive ... as it just a drive.
Certain issues I have I thought maybe RG could resolve.

it's just a hacked file, though.
the best thing would to be running a 32bit os in a vm.

well, i like running bbses in a vm because you can always backup that entire image quick and easy. sometimes things take a dump and stop working. you c either research it and piece it together or throw on a backup real quick.
