• BBS Software out there

So I've tried Mystic, Renegade, Magicka, Sycnronet, Enigma and Faulken. Are there any others out there I'm missing for the latest and greatest?
I do like Enigma. It's daunting to learn the code since I'm not familiar with the structure and how it interacts with the other modules, but the fact that it's 100% accessible and well supported through documentation and Github, it's a formidable product. My BBS has been relatively successful albeit a crash here or there because of my human error in the code and relationship with other areas.

I'm really interested in getting the BBS integrated with a terminal on a webpage like some of the others have done. that's cool as coke. working towards it.

Try Talisman, it's alpha by the MagickaBBS author. www.talismanbbs.com
I have it running here as a second BBS.

WWIV is also in development still (I think) but sucks.

Oblivion/2 was in production a few years back, but I think it's been
abandoned (more info about that is likely to be found at caphood's BBS.)

Wildcat! is still for sale for as low as $1000 per license I think ;)

That's a very easy thing to do now thanks to Rick Parrish's fTelnet (go to ftelnet.ca)

There's a setup "wizard" type thing there where you punch in your BBS's info, then it gives you some javascript that you can just copy and paste into your webpage and then presto! Your BBS is accesible on your webpage.

(Tip: You can use CSS to make the fTelnet elements match your BBS' style!)

I like Talisman/Magicka, but if you use one of those I encourage you to try to get all the features out of the box for the user; make sure users can scan for new messages instead of just read whatever messages, make sure they can set a message pointer date, and make sure they can set scan areas.

The author (apam) is a great guy and seems willing to communicate with people about his software.
