    Hi all,

Does anyone have any interest in access to a full text usenet server?

I run a news server and right now populating a new one with articles back to around 1985. It's a slow process so will take a few weeks.

Meanwhile a fellow sysop is working on a usenet reader which works similar to the netmail and echomail reader on the BBS so it'll have the same look and feel.

The service will also be open to standalone usenet clients so if you want to access with Agent, Pam, Thunderbird or some other client, you're free to do so.

For initial and continued access, I would ask all users to:

Have an account in good standing for at least 30 days.
Have logged in on a regular basis, at least once per week.

    and

Participate in one or more of the networks on a regular basis and make meaningful, contributing posts.

and make use of the door games on a regular basis, to help keep interest in those that also rely on other players to compete against.

Once the client is ready for testing, I'd like a small number of users to have access to see if they can find bugs or improvements.

Although not necessary, priority will be given to users who wish to donate to the running of the server which is costing me $100 per year. That said, I never have and never will charge a fee for using the BBS, unless people start abusing the service.

Please contact me privately or ask questions in the General section under the Usenet Access post.

    Thanks,
    Nigel
