I've been trying to get a MacOSX .vmdk to work... it boots, but only to
a Shell> prompt. If I Exit from that, I get a menu with several items,
all of which return to the Shell> prompt. I have no idea how to get past
this. Everything I see says it should Just Work. Well, it doesn't work!

BTDT! Reminds me of when WFWG came out: for me only worked if I started
at DOS (6.x? - forgotten) then loaded WFWG but crashed/locked up if I
tried WFWG and shell to DOS.

Yeah, if a person is being lazy... or doesn't want to deal with a
    painfully slow installer, like Debian's...

And having rooted around elsewhere.... apparently there's a whole series
of hoops to jump through, including a commandline patch. Ah well, at the moment too much work.

Okay, you're officially weird too. Now I'm not so alone. :D

I cheated and use a solid state drive on some of the systems here as a
boot drive. My main system has a SSD for booting (wheeee!) an HDD for
data. The system used as MythTV Backend is HDD, mainly because doesn't
get booted all that often so why spend the extra money. Others are SSD
only, HDD only, or combination dependant on their use.

Yeah, kind of figured a bunch of hoops to go through. Like you it would
be too much work at the current time. Nice to be able to have the
    option at least.
