    A short blog post on the utilty/telephone pole:

    No mention of how they jump out in front of some cars, but there is competition for space on the pole. (Side note: the higher up the line
    is, the more dangerous it is.)

    That was an interesting read, especially the article that was linked to it. I knew that the power lines were at the top but was not 100$ sure about the others.

    That was an interesting read, especially the article that was
    linked to it. I knew that the power lines were at the top but
    was not 100$ sure about the others.

    Glad an person with 'non-traditional information-gathering tastes' found
    it of interest. No idea when or why I started paying attention: no recollection as a child of a downed wire incident. A few as an adult
    where it's handy to know if that particular wire is a safe telephone,
    cable of fiber optic or a stay-far-away power line. Also the
    identification makes it easier to call the right company for repair!
