    Hi Nigel!

No problems, but then I download from Lee and not Michael so that could
be a part of the reason whn no problems.

There are some autoposts from Daryl and Mike (Thunderbolt and Capitol
City Online, respectively). Both transfer through Michael's system and noticed nothing from either this morning (Sunday, December 27), though
for Daryl could be due to bad weather. Haven't seen any weather posts
from Mike in the past few days, half-figuring his equipment saw he was
gone for the holiday, got jealous and quit.

I think the problem was on my end. I was "fixing" some long over due configurtion issues and when I got it properly configured, it stopped working :) I've unborked myself now so it should be good.

Get enough people together and they can tell horror stories for each
delivery service. Every so often one hears about the piece of mail
delivered fifty years late -- the other carriers didn't even exist then.
I've also had USPS loose mail; UPS damage a dog crate (fortunately no
dog inside!). Can't think of anything off-hand with FedEx and DHL.
...Ah! May have figured out why one carrier is having issues (but can't
recall who was doing it): ordered a mirror in a decorative frame -- approximately 4' x 18". Arrived cracked -- more like smashed at the
break. Called, get replacement. That one also was damaged -- just
cracked, but still not usable. Third one -- you guessed it: cracked.

Yup. %) I had thought of it too at the time. ...In this instance the supplier was at fault as they didn't properly pack in preperation for shipping. Did have Styrofoam sheets around the mirror, but the sheets were too thin and not of the dense kind.

    Barry,

Or like that image you sent me...you'll shovel it off, and the
snowplow will put it back on there. :P

Yup! What's sort of funny is the City has a suggestion in their newsletter to shovel a section of snow out before the driveway so when
the plow comes by the snow being plowed has a place to be dropped off instead of the driveway. (They phrased it more easily to understand.) We've sort of been doing that for years anyway and it does work -- up
    to a point.

Much of the Southern Plains, Arklatex, Arklamiss, and MidSouth, are digging out from an ice storm, followed by back to back snowstorms. Between 1 and 2 feet of snow was the storm total in portions of central and southern Arkansas. Temperatures were near -20 in portions of north Arkansas on Feb. 16, and it
was -1 at Little Rock. This last storm set 3 records at Little Rock:

    1) Snowiest 24 hour period.
    2) Snowiest 7 day period.
    3) Snowiest February.

Weather records at Little Rock began in 1879.

    Hi Daryl!

Not suggesting giving up Uber, but might be possible to use a lower-
    cost service at times.

I feel more comfortable with Uber than with a taxi. But, since
I have the car back, I won't use it that often. I've got to order
some groceries from Wal-Mart, but will pay to have them
delivered. While I have to have a $35 minimum order, not having
to waste the gasoline and wear and tear on the car by driving out
there, and trying to find a parking place... then walking forever
to find stuff, and waiting to checkout (especially if the
registers go down), is worth it.

One reason why I'm not all that thrilled with Wal-Mart. ...Hmm:
Kroeger is/was charging $9.95 for their grocery delivery, but they have
(maybe had as 2019 post) an option called "Kroeger ship" which was free
over $35, though the highlight thing I saw sort of indicated was for non-perishible items.

Besides, with having scheduled my next colonoscopy for April 8
(the BBS will be down April 7 for prep and April 8 for the
procedure), the cost of 2 twelve packs of toilet paper (Cottonelle...apologies to Mister Whipple <G>), will take a large
    part of the cost.

Just thing of it as Spring Cleaning!!

It's similar at Wal-Mart...but the local Kroger employee was real
snotty with me, saying "we don't do delivery". Well, there are items
that I can get at Wal-Mart, that Kroger doesn't even stock.

Just thing of it as Spring Cleaning!!

I called my prescription drug plan, and instead of drinking a gallon
of that nasty My-Lytely stuff, I get to take 2 doses of 12 pills with
water. The problem is, that the pill is not covered by my formulary,
they consider it tier 4, and I'd have to pay well over $100 for only
24 pills. I might as well be buying Viagra tablets!!

Speaking of which, I heard one person died after getting a COVID-19 shot...and one of the things that developed was that he got "a
constant erection". Now, if that lasts longer than 4 hours, that can
cause permanent damage to the penis. But, he had other issues as well,
and he was in a coma before his death, and had no idea what was going
    on.

I read where the resoning is because of the micro jagged edges of the paper edge really do a number on the skin.

    That they do.

    Barry,

That Kroeger employee needs to learn how to be nice. I'm also a little surprised at Kroeger not doing delivery, though could see "this store doesn't do delivery but the bigger one does". (As long as it's
delivered to your door doesn't metter which store it came from.)

Well, as noted, there are several items at Wal-Mart that Kroger doesn't carry.

Back to the previous message for a sec: had refilled my coffee and
    looked outside -- there's a strip of snow still by the south fence;
must be protected from the Sun. Also a small pile left where shoveled from the driveway.

    It'll be gone soon.

The latter might be more fun way of sitting on the toilet! FWIW the doctor doing my colonoscopy had prescibed Suprep. IMO not too bad a taste: sort of a tart Sprite with a hint of chalk/clay. Not a tatse I look forward too but not horrible. As I recall I paid $75.

As it turned out, I only had to pay $9.20 -- but I won't know until
just before I start the poop purge, if the procedure is still on, as I
am supposed to get the COVID-19 nasal swab 2 days before. I was told "if
you do NOT hear anything from us, the test was negative, and you can do
    the prep for the procedure".

Admittedly, the prep work is the worst part of it...but you do get a
nice nap during it, and can resume your normal diet afterwards, unless
    the doctor notes otherwise.

I hadn't heard anything about that. Not good, but I'm thinking more coincidence. As for my reaction to first COVID-19 vaccine (I had
Pfizer) maaaaaybe a bit of a runny/stuffy sinuses - something I get on occasion and took a couple of chewable Vitamin C and was fine in the morning. Zero injection site reaction (with the flu shot in the Fall I had injection site tenderness for a couple of days). Also had a looser stool three or four days following; again maybe a reaction, maybe just timing.

I drank some Sprite earlier today, with a deal from McDonald's...they had
2 fish sandwiches, 2 large fries, and 2 large drinks (I probably should
have chosen tea), for just over $11. I had a hankering for fish, and I
needed something to eat between appointments at the foot doctor (had to
get the toenails trimmed, and a callus trimmed off the bottom of the
right foot), and the chiropractor (next Monday will be my final treatment). Then, I hope Geico calls and offers a nice settlement...it'd make a nice birthday present if it was. However, as of now, the only things I plan to
do that day is to do two ham radio nets that night. I certainly don't want
to go to a place and get embarrassed by some hokey birthday song singing.

We sniffed 'em too, I don't know if anyone had thoughts of attempting
to get high but more just a decent smell.

    anesthesia).

Right: I've also been told could eat whatever I wanted following the procedure but I prefer to do what I guess could be called a 'soft restart': will make several servings of a large plain yogurt to
replenish the good bacteria in the intestines.

This is true...especially when your body is giving you the "GTH
    treatment". <G>

You might be able to get just the regular birthday song: seems a couple years ago either whoever had the right to the song relinquished them or
it finally aged into public domain. Know the reason for the hokey birthday songs was because of the royality.

That's exactly the reason for it. I think it was a court in California
    that decided that.

could accidentally hand out two bills instead of one.

... Syntax is all the money collected at the church from sinners.

Or the most they get out of church is the 25 cents they put into the
offering plate, and the 35 cents they take out for a milk shake. <G>

The reason most want a quick sermon is that they're afraid the folks
at another church are going to beat them to lunch!! :P

    Hi Daryl!

Well, as noted, there are several items at Wal-Mart that Kroger
    doesn't carry.
Yes: some exclusives, some just to annoy you! <gg>
It would seem so. But, even my snack favorites are being
    snatched up.

I have the feeling less are being manufactured essentially due to
COVID-19: illness, supply chain, etc., so less to go around. People
aren't at work but at home, so the vending machine and food service
versions aren't being sold but the people now working at home are buying
the grocery store sizes. And not as easy as it sounds to move over the vending sizes to the consumer sizes.

As it turned out, I only had to pay $9.20 -- but I won't know
    You got a bargain!
If only all of my medical bills and medications were under
    $10!!

They could be: they'd just have you come in for that weekly supply
    instead of monthly! <g>

Hopefully no calls other than to remind you of your appointment.
Yeah, they're going to call a few days before to go over
things, and I'll tell them that I need anti-nausea medicine, and
that my blood pressure plunges under sedation (I've never done
    well with anesthesia).

Always good things to remind them of.

    BTDT!!

I had that when cashiering -- covering a break or at a register due to
aa rush. Woman gave me cash in new bills -- didn't feel right: too
thick, too heavy, something. Do a wipe motion; the two bills separated.

Someone's on the bad part of that deal! <thunder!>

Nah: should be let the others eat first to make sure the food isn't bad
-- let someone else get sick!
