States where things opened too fast and people were being sloppy are
indeed having spikes again in their Covid counts.... So far NY is
staying the course, and almost fully reopened again.... but there is a
fairly good compliance with the safety guidelines that accompany each
phase of the openings... Some of it might be overkill, and there is
some laxity in total implementation, but overall, most are being
careful for themselves and for others' sakes... :)

They've had brawls in some restaurants...where customers won't wear
the masks, and when called down by employees, the customers cuss them
out, or throw food and drink at them. Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson rightly calls these idiots "selfish".

Or at least rather boorish.... and impolite....

Exactly... and that factored in... both of us quite well, both kinda
ready to take the chance... :)

If we can ever square dance again, we're going to make those "64
    beat moves". <G>

Hugs are necessary for mental health, after all.... :)

Doesn't hurt to be a little extra cautious... :) Probably wouldn't be
an issue if one didn't do it, but doesn't hurt to do either... :)

It's hard enough getting square dance club members to sweep the
floor, etc. after a dance...constant cleaning and sanitizing with
    COVID-19 isn't worth it.

Perhaps constant cleaning and sanitizing is more than is actually
needed... regular rather than constant might be enough... ;)

    I resemble that tagline. <G>

No doubt many of us do... ;)

    Nancy,

    rightly calls these idiots "selfish".

Sadly nowadays, it's a crime to offend someone. The entire society,
    IMO, has "broken down".

Hugs are necessary for mental health, after all.... :)

But, with the spike in COVID-19 cases all over the place, it might
mean the death knell of square dancing and other hobbies that require
    close contact.

Perhaps constant cleaning and sanitizing is more than is actually needed... regular rather than constant might be enough... ;)

Well, it's hard enough getting folks to clean up after the dance.
Most are older and disabled (as I am), and it's hard to do work. I
bring either my cane or my walker to a dance, because it's hard to
get up after sitting for a time. In fact, I have the walker next to
    my bed.

... No wanna do housework, wanna bang on keyboard

    I resemble that tagline. <G>

No doubt many of us do... ;)

When I feel the urge to clean, I lie down until it goes away. <G>

While I'm not in squalor, and don't intend to let it get that run
down...at least at my late parents home, I don't have to worry about
    monthly inspections.

Right now, the grass is getting tall, but I can't afford to have
the lawn done right now. If Code Enforcement throws a fit, I'll ask
them if they can survive on $1100 a month. They likely will say "No",
and I'll reply "I rest my case".

The spike isn't happening where I am... eventually things will flatten
out other places as well.... so not a death knell, just a put on hold
for longer than we'd like.... :)

    That's a relief... :)

Is there any organization in town that provides services to disabled/elderly...? Maybe you could find someone to do it as a
    generous service..... :)

It has been in parts of Arkansas. With schools starting back, I'm
    sure there weill be spikes.

get up after sitting for a time. In fact, I have the walker next to

    And, I step into the size 13 Brahma Work Boots to give me support;
even if it's just a quck trip to the bathroom.

No kidding. I need to do the housework, but at least I don't have
    that pressure hanging over me.

Since I was able to pay the house insurance on a monthly installment,
I had funds to pay my yard man to do the lawn Thursday...his wife
trimmed my hair and beard today. Both look a lot better. :)
