Yup, probably just because that's where it was, no need to move
it... :) And probably more convenient for the patient than having to
walk long halls of the hospital to get to it... :)
Probably so. LIS was in a small outbuilding with its own parking lot
(IIRC trees all around), so no mega-parking lot hassles, no "go up to
    the 6th Floor".....
    Indeed convenient... :)
Yes. Assume it's still there -- haven't needed to go. One
consideration to move is the hospital campus it's on is now dedicated
to cancer treatment and ....something else which isn't coming to mind.

I get a DEXA scan every two years, to monitor things ongoing.... My next
one is coming up in December... ;) They probably have no real need to
move your machine, no matter how hospital usage changes.... ;)

The 'good news' is the Genesis East facility, the known-general site,
is the one closest to the house so if something where self-transport
would occur would go there automatically.
And they could decide whether to keep you or to send you on to more
    specialised care... :)
Right. Initially thinking being sent on means something major like
cardiac, though that particular hospital has the cardiac center. The
'send on' could be for a lesser issue: here kidney stones and the like
are usually done at an independent complex.
And with Covid being an issue now, the lesser (but still critical)
things have been being done at out-patient facilities to separate
    them from the virus...
True - again no person experience. I was at the urology center (independent site but affiliated with both hosital groups) for a
followup to a low-spike in my PSA level (came back down) at the
beginning of the COVID-19 and no masking and plexiglass barriers yet
but there were signs posted if one had a fever other than due to urological stones to not come in and reschedule (phrased nicer, of course).

My experience has been second-hand, with people I know dealing with
things like that... And the way the offices have been handling things
has indeed evolved as the crisis has continued... Were you to go now, no
doubt there would be masking and barriers along with the fever warning signs.... :)

Thank you: reminded me I have an installer coming Monday morning and I
want to make sure the come to the correct street: there's a short
half-street and it has the same address number as I do.
So, the installer got to the right place...? And you now have fiber
    optics rather than DSL....?
The installer called before arrival; I did tell him not to go to the
half street which he thanked me for that heads-up and sort of
indicated it wasn't on his notes.
Might not have mattered, but knowing in advance made things more
    likely to go smoothly... ;)
If one comes from one direction will hit this street first and no problems. If one is coming from the other direction will hit the half-street first and a potential problem as the street sign is, or
has been, partially covered by tree branches so if that or simply
counting down would turn down one street too early.

Yes, that could be a problem... ;)

The install went fine, no fiber optic service yet as the light level
from the main feed isn't sufficient -- he said '40' and I think he
said should be at 90 or greater. He did have a second tech check and
he put in a work order.
I haven't seen anyone around (though the problem could be at some far
end) nor seen anything in my account for work to be done. Actually I
didn't see anything for the installation so that kind of work might
    not be on my level.
Did do an inquiry last night to try to find out what's going on and
'shake the tree' a little. Too early to have a response.
    Murphy strikes again....
Uh-huh! In hind-sight I'm thinking maybe I did have fiber optic
service as I never did see that red light the tech mentioned. He told
me about it outside before leaving, and then I went downstairs to see. The LEDs on looked green to me, but then so can some yellow ones look greenish. Big enough should pick up red. Well, he said.... In
hindsight maybe the master system needed a few more minutes to realize
    I was connected?

    Possible... :)

In the interim there should be a post about a follow-up tech four days later and everything is all nice now. Well, a few 'headaches' because
of the new LAN IP addressing (went from 192.168.0.x to 192.168.4.x)
    - 'major' computers updated, 'minor' ones to be done.

The downside of having all those working computers.... ;)

Lately we've been getting a bunch of spam calls from all over the
country: Erie, PA, Denver, IA (!), Dillon, SC. etc., etc., all with
the same recorded message. He must have some great frequent-flyer
    miles!! <g>
Or a good gazetteer, to find all those varied town names.... ;)
Or my favourite: throw darts at the wall map!
It's probably an online listing of names, and chosen randomly.... ;)
Possibly, have seen the same town/city come up.

And then there are the ones that use your name and number.... <G>

Horray!! <g> Plus I half-learned how to edit the Phone Book (in the
cell phone) so when they called the number would come up identified as
the clinic and not "Unknown Name" ==> able to add several numbers under
one heading, but then found another number they had used and couldn't
figure out how to add to the original listing; cheated: made a second
header with the two numbers I found. Now "Clinic" and "Clinic 1".
    Good enough for now!
That works ok, at least... :) On my cellphone, one of the options for
a "No Name" call is "Save to Contacts", which then gives me the choice
of "New" or "Update"... The latter lets me add it to an existing
listing as an additional number... Just did that with our dentist
office... we both were there for our 6-month hygenist visit, and the
routine at the moment is call from the car to let them know you are
there, and then they call back when they are ready for you to come into
into the office... I was called in first, so I handed the phone to
Richard to wait for his call... later I saw that the first call was the
one I had in the directory, the second call was an alternate number...
It's now added to the directory... :)
Yes, I was looking for an update option as the original (new) form
allowed home, two or three work numbers, FAX, etc. Would allow and update, so theoretically couldn't even correct and we know that's not correct. For right now the 'Clinic', 'Clinic 1', if needed 'Clinic 2' will work, though the latter might be enough to trigger reading the manual!

I don't think I have a manual for my phone.... But, anyway... I'd guess
that the function would show up under the options when you go to view
the new number for the Clinic... :)

cabinet paperwork goes in a hanging folder which has either a regular

    Hi Nancy!

Yes. Assume it's still there -- haven't needed to go. One
consideration to move is the hospital campus it's on is now dedicated
to cancer treatment and ....something else which isn't coming to mind.
I get a DEXA scan every two years, to monitor things ongoing.... My
next one is coming up in December... ;) They probably have no real
need to move your machine, no matter how hospital usage changes.... ;)
Right: even though the campus is generally dedicated to a few
specialities the building is separate and small and probably more or
less dedicated to it's 'thing' - didn't pay attention to what else was inside the few times I was there.
After all, you had no need to notice anything else... and long
enough ago that things might have changed since then, anyway... ;)

Yes, has been several years and things do change! I guess the good news
is I haven't needed to be checked again, nor anyone I know.

My experience has been second-hand, with people I know dealing with
things like that... And the way the offices have been handling things
has indeed evolved as the crisis has continued... Were you to go now,
no doubt there would be masking and barriers along with the fever
    warning signs.... :)
They're wearing masks and behind plexiglass barriers. ...Of course
"just because" there are barriers doesn't mean the little coronavirus nasties can't travel through the paperwork pass-throughs and spaces
around the barriers, so the masks are still needed.
It's all designed just to slow down possible transmission, not
expected to stop it entirely... ;)

Right. Amd around here masks are being more and more required or at
least strongly encouraged in public places where social distancing isn't always possible.

The LEDs on looked green to me, but then so can some yellow ones look
greenish. Big enough should pick up red. Well, he said.... In
hindsight maybe the master system needed a few more minutes to realize
    I was connected?
    Possible... :)
So the good news is appears everything is working properly. Uploaded
a bunch of pictures of Autumn I took and was soooo nice not to have to take a half hour to upload!
    Very good...! :)

And right now for only a little bit more than what I was paying for the
DSL. Darn phone bill is confusing! OK, I'm paying $x for telephone
service, and $y for DSL, but then there's lines and lines and lines of
taxes and fees and this recovery fee and sometimes they throw in a line
with a credit -- seems like all those little fees add up to almost what
    the phone service costs!

Good news is (so far) with the DSL it's a fee for the service, a $10 'technology fee' (nobody seems to know what it is - isn't the gateway
and router) and the tax on the fee.

In the interim there should be a post about a follow-up tech four days
later and everything is all nice now. Well, a few 'headaches' because
of the new LAN IP addressing (went from 192.168.0.x to 192.168.4.x)
    - 'major' computers updated, 'minor' ones to be done.
The downside of having all those working computers.... ;)
Everything has at least two viewpoints!
    At least.... <G>

Just about everything has been behaving. For some reason one Raspberry
Pi on wireless is having problems connecting and it's waiting it's turn
in line to get checked. (Rebooting didn't correct.)

... Her last birthday cake looked like a prairie fire!
That could be a good reason to start using number candles... ;)

Weird thought -- imagine Romans doing multiplication: "What is XXX x
XXX?". All those x's is the initial joke, but converting the letters?!
