    Nancy,

And now he's back full force... and working on getting through all the
    messages... ;)

You and Barry have been doing most of the gabbing in here. <G>

Had to keep up the echo somehow, with you on hiatus... ;) I see you've more than made up for it since... ;)

First they couldn't get me to talk. Now, they can't get me to shut up. <G> However, with storms returning, that's going to limit my BBS work for a bit.

    Daryl

I've been absent, absent minded and not Lurking here much.
I'd think every (almost) QWK packet has messages from this echo in it.
Lots of other different stuff going on - computer wise and NON computerwise. And I'm not wired for Stereo! to be able to sometimes get one thing done.

I know that You've tried keeping those Storms from crossing the Mississippi River and heading towards my area, and I appreicate that, but around 11AM
Today Rain and Storms are going to start up here [according to the National Weather Service - who makes new predictions every Hour with the new Hourly
Data that comes in on their computer(s) ].

You are doing VERY WELL without Janet's suggestions to help You along the way.

There has to be a way to put a Barrier at and along the Mississippi River to contain Storms to the West Side of the USA, and keep them from bothering Us Easterners.

Can't You and Barry figure out a way to do that?

As You do, I don't use the computer during Storms.

I suppose I could get a Wi-Fi Router here and use a Notebook on Battery Power but when the storms occur I don't have ANY A.C. Power going to ANYTHING that
is connected to ANY of the computers in this room (Commodore 64, Old 486,
XP Desktop or Vista Notebook), and it sometimes cause me to experience the DT's.

A Wi-Fi Router would have to be ON for Me to use it during a Storm so I will pass on buying one for now.

So far this Year I haven't had Cabin Fever due to the CONVID-19 Shut Down because I can turn a pc on and Run Programs on it AND ALSO I have a DSL Connection for my computer to get QWK Packets or Browse the internet etc etc
    IN GOOD WEATHER, OF COURSE.

Nancy knows that I'm a bit active since I Post Messages occasionally in the Cooking echo, that She is also in.

    Ed,

I'd think every (almost) QWK packet has messages from this echo in it.

We want to keep it active. <G>

Well, if I could control the weather, a relative said "I'd be [pooping]
in high grass". I saw yesterday where all of Arizona was under a Red Flag Warning for extreme fire danger.

You are doing VERY WELL without Janet's suggestions to help You along
    the way.

If you mean Janice, my late wife, I could use her support at times.
But, for all the crap I've been through since her death, I'm glad she's
not here to see my agony.

There has to be a way to put a Barrier at and along the Mississippi
River to contain Storms to the West Side of the USA, and keep them from bothering Us Easterners.

That's not my department...you'll have to take that up with The Good Lord.

As You do, I don't use the computer during Storms.

One ham radio operator had spared no expense for lightning protection.
You name it, he bought it, and installed it (price was no object). He
took a direct hit, and this was the result:

    1) His tower, antenna, mast, and coaxial cable, were VAPORIZED.

    2) The inside of the UPS units and computer towers were black,
with the circuit boards melted and fused together.

    3) His monitor melted.

    4) He had scorch marks down the walls of his house.

    5) He likely had to have the whole place re-wired.

A Wi-Fi Router would have to be ON for Me to use it during a Storm so I will pass on buying one for now.

I have a Verizon Mi-Fi to use the laptop in a pinch, and do things on battery...but I refuse to argue with lightning.

So far this Year I haven't had Cabin Fever due to the CONVID-19 Shut
Down because I can turn a pc on and Run Programs on it AND ALSO I have
a DSL Connection for my computer to get QWK Packets or Browse the

While my uptime would be increased with the BBS "in the cloud", I
don't know if I can afford to jump through all those hoops.

Nancy knows that I'm a bit active since I Post Messages occasionally in the Cooking echo, that She is also in.

If I can't cook it in the microwave oven, I do without.

They can do that....? Does that mean we can blame them when we don't
    get the rain we need...?
