    Nancy,

Indeed... and even than messaging... <G> I am gradually getting closer
to caught up... we shall see how well it goes... ;)

I wouldn't be up at this hour, but insomnia kicked in. It was a stressful afternoon, due to the alarm system going off, and it took 20 minutes to get back here from a friends house. Thankfully, no damage, but the police did
an inside and outside inspection. I explained to them because of health
issues and surgery, I hadn't had the chance to clean up from the rodents,
but told them that Terminix had come in. At least I haven't seen any more evidence of such in a month.

The furnace hasn't run here for months... when it finally got chilly,
the most we've done was to close the attic door so that the residual
heat (after cooling down from the extreme heat) wouldn't escape out the top.... All we have for cooling though is windows to open and fans to
move and exhaust the hot air.... :)

It has "warmed up" at night, so I don't need. However, when I went to
turn off the ceiling fan in my bedroom, the cord broke...so the fan is "permanently off". The light still works, but I can't see buying a new
ceiling fan. If nothing else, I'll get a portable fan to circulate the
    air.

We shall see about the fall... probably depends on whether the virus resurges too badly or at all... We've moved to phase 3 (of 4) here,
which opened a lot of stuff I've been waiting for.... still a lot of restrictions and distancing and protective measures needed, so things aren't normal normal, but it's more normal than it's been for a long while....

I'm wondering if we'll ever be able to square dance again...we sure
don't practice social distancing on the dance floor.

It would be rather loosely formed squares... one would need to be a
master dancer to keep track... ;)

And, so many just know the basic footwork. One caller rightly noted that
"if you don't know the definition, you don't know the call".

That's something else that's been closed, and I don't know where they fall, either....

Apparently, some cities are now requiring masks in public places.

The trick is to be able to give yourself 'comedy relief' as well.. :)

My self esteem isn't that high anymore, as it has been crushed so
many times...especially with all I've been through the last 3 years.

Good that the rodents are finally totally gone... Did you figure out
    what triggered the alarm...?

It might not be that big a job to replace the cord on the fan...

Not just cities, states.... Our state requires them any place in public
that one might not be able to properly distance...

    Nancy,

Good that the rodents are finally totally gone... Did you figure out
    what triggered the alarm...?

I still need to run the vacuum cleaner...but so much else keeps coming
up. But, when I have to go out, the driving is so "draining", that I have
to take a nap when I get home.

As for the alarm, I think a bird flew into it, and the vibration bumped
the sensor. Years ago, when there wasn't a screen on it, birds would fly
into the garage...it gave the cat fits. <G>

It might not be that big a job to replace the cord on the fan...

I'll have to find someone to do it. But, the bank account is a bit
anemic right now. I still have the cord.

Eventually I'm sure this too shall pass, and hugs and dancing will be
    ok again... :)

I hope so. We like to make those hugs "64 beat moves" <G>.

Not just cities, states.... Our state requires them any place in public that one might not be able to properly distance...

Little Rock and Fayetteville both are requiring masks, with limited exceptions.

Just keep looking for the comic edge... even a quirked smile is better than total gloom....

True...I always enjoy the banter in the echoes. Even your comment after
my QWK Tagline of taking an IQ test, with negative results (you said
"that explains a lot <g,d,r>", made me chuckle. :)

Only so much energy in a day... ;) And you are still recovering from
    surgery, after all...

Good... hang onto it... I'd think that the fix would be less expensive
than buying a new fan... and possibly not much at all...

I'm doing well, but some days, I swear I've pulled a muscle in my

This month, money is tighter than a frog's [butt] underwater. Once I
get the income tax refund on my late Mom's return, and the insurance
deal a year after her death, that'll help. However, the majority of it
    will go toward a generator.

I hope so. We like to make those hugs "64 beat moves" <G>.

    Good long hugs, than... :)

Oh, definitely. The friendly banter and razzing is a welcome
change from all the stress otherwise.

We don't lose power that often, but I don't want to have to replace
    a bunch of food.

I'm working on the September issue of "The Modern Square", the monthly publication of the Arkansas State Square Dance Federation. The deadline
is August 10, but I don't wait until the last minute to start working on
    it.

I still want to take that train trip next summer, but may not be able
    to.
