    Barry,

popcorn, it's "would you like some popcorn with your salt??". :P
That way drink more of that 5% drink!
    That'll be $3.25 for a small Coke, please. :P

<whimper> I never had the need to eat while watching a movie in a theatre; to me the two activities don't go together, though have eaten
and drank while watching a movie at home -- maybe because can pause the movie while at home. (Doesn't have to be logical to be logical to me!)

They won't let you bring food or drink in there, but what they have costs
    an arm and a leg.

Close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and at the
    drive-inn. <G>

There is a drive-in in one of the adjoining towns. They were able to re-open and are keeping the cars parked further away from each other
than usual (meaning in previous years). I don't think they re-opened their concession stand, though are allowing people to bring in food.

Garth Brooks is doing a "drive-inn concert" linked with several of these...but it's $100 per car.

Pretty sure the same here, or at least was pre-COVID-19; haven't been to
the movies in a log time.

SUVs rule! <g> They sit what - six or eight? That brings it down to
    less that $20 a person!

That would do it. But, I think of the old Cheech And Chong deal, where
they smuggle a couple of guys in the trunk into the theatre...but the
guy breaks the key off in the lock. So, he goes to another car to see
if he can get help...but encounters a couple having sex. When he gets
back, he's asked if he got something, and he said "I don't think we can
open the trunk with it". :P

Well, the guy goes to the snack bar to see if he can get assistance,
and the guy left behind, has to answer the call of nature, so he proceeds
to pee on the trunk lid...and is yelling "it's a cloudburst!" :P

He gets back in the car, and breaks wind, and laments that "my eyes are burning".

I don't think they ever got the guys out of there...but all their
    stuff was really bizarre.

I think of the old Cheech And Chong

I think I missed enjoying their humour by being a litte too straight-
laced when growing up. Over the years have discovered there seems to be multiple layers woven into their comedy delivery.

There are times when coarse language is appropriate. When simply

Don't give them ideas!! So many think a "G rating" is "a death sentence". You'd be surprised how many folks prefer "clean comedy". But, Hollywood believes "the raunchier, the better".

Admittedly, I have a "vocabulary" (the girls cussed me worse than the
boys on the school bus 43 years ago), I know there's a time and place for everything.

One user of BBS's (who shall remain nameless), it seems he can't enter
one paragraph without some profanity in there.
