    Nancy,

Better than doing it in the bed...although if one poops in the bed
in the hospital, it's known as a "code brown"...how's that for original?? :P

    Typical hospital humor... ;)

Years ago, several nurses on my ward, were ladies I square danced
with...they gave me such grief!! <G>

... The refrigerator light DOES go out. Now let me out of here.

What got me is that the freezer now has a light in there!!

Or a couple of examples from fellow ham radio operators, when the
nurse told them to remove all their clothes, put on the gown, and get
    into bed.

    1) Couldn't we discuss this over dinner and a few drinks, and get to
    know each other first??

    2) Where should I put the clothes I take off?? (She replied "On the
    floor, next to mine").

What got me is that the freezer now has a light in there!!

I am slowly working down on what I have...but I may get some
groceries before surgery this week, since I'll be stuck at home
    for at least a week.

They gave me a ton of grief. <G>

Did you end with enough groceries to tide you after the surgery...?

Oh, yes...strangely enough, even though the hot dogs were in a sealed
Ziploc, in the refrigerator, they went moldy on me, as did some of the
buns...I had to throw them out.

Thankfully, I still have several TV dinners and bags of chicken nuggets
to graze on. Then, for snacks, it's sandwich cookies and dill pickle potato chips. I wish Lay's would re-release the sausage gravy biscuit, or garlic cheese potato chips. While I like the Doritos Nacho Cheese, they are very messy.

But that was free penicillin!! <g> 'Just being' is more than enough
reason for something to become moldy. I've had unopened cheese get
mold. Never had hot dogs get mold; bread (buns), yes.

Best thing to do is to throw out -- may seem like a waste as "just trim
off the fuzzy part" but the 'roots' extend quite a distance and and can
    cause illness.

My late father said the same thing.

I don't need any more illness.

I would say so. I saw some on some luncheon meat that was still sealed
in its original package...so, I threw it out.

That is indeed odd... hot dogs tend to have so much preservative in them
    that they never go moldy....

Thankfully, I still have several TV dinners and bags of chicken
    nuggets to graze on.

Freezers do a good job of keeping things.... ;)

I suppose one could call Lay's and let them know of one's like for
    them.... it might help.... ;)
