You can preach weather safety until you're blue in the face...but
some still swear that "I can drive through this". It only takes 6
inches of moving water to sweep humans off their feet, and from 1 to 2 feet of moving water to sweep a vehicle off the road.
Some people just don't believe it until it happens to them... and then NB>it's too late...
Hmmmm.... April showers bring May flowers... Do May showers bring June NB>flowers....? Or just June bugs.... <G>

Yep...some just have to learn the hard way. Then, they expect to be rescued for their stupidity.

I think you meant 'from their stupidity', but yes.... And sometimes it's NB>too late by then....
Ah, well... You'll just have to give them personal demonstrations/hands NB>on lectures when you visit them, I guess.... with a little exposure to NB>actually using the picture frames, they might decide it's not quite so NB>arcane after all... :)
This time of year things are just too changeable... we've had a couple

Our schools are closed at least until April 29th, too... kids are doing NB>distance learning and being home-schooled, too... And the colleges are NB>doing things all online, too...
Not sure if the big box stores here are limiting how many inside the NB>store at a time, as I've not been anywhere near them, but so far Wegmans NB>hasn't limited, though they have now posted signs saying that they NB>reserve the right to do so if they feel it necessary.... It's more just NB>encouraging the 6' away from each other and otherwise maintaining NB>distance from anyone... I'm not seeing so much of the stores being a NB>place for gathering, but then it is being actively discouraged...
local news and as a teaser before a commercial break. The anchor is reading the teaser off the telepromter and is stiffling a laugh: I can imagine her thinking "my career is now down to reading stories about toilet paper"!

I talked ot a ham radio operator in Branson...he said it was in the
80s last week, and they were forecasting snow this past Monday night.

They've cancelled all school for the rest of the academic year.
Whether it'll reopen this fall remains to be seen.

They are at Wal-Mart here...and also starting to require masks and
gloves when you go in.

Well, no news, means they're out of work. :P
Crazy weather all over, for sure.... :)
So far there's still not been any decision about staying closed for the rest of the year... but I suspect that they will be... Things should reopen in the fall, though... unless the crisis just keeps hanging
on...

Masks are now required at our Wegmans... but not gloves...
There's plenty of news... but one can certainly use a little bit of
humor amongst it all...
Sigh.... I AM slipping.... 2 weeks behind now...!

First, I am finally back, after a system power supply and hardware failure. The BBS got moved to my late Mom's computer...but we've had practically nonstop storms here this spring.
Crazy weather all over, for sure.... :)
Some models are hinting at the remnants of a tropical system
affecting the area next week.
So far there's still not been any decision about staying closed for
the rest of the year... but I suspect that they will be... Things

hanging on...
They are slowly reopening things in Arkansas, but a lot of things
still remain closed.
I haven't square danced since mid-March...but with hernia surgery
next week, it'll be July before I can even think of dancing again.

Several of the local malls were closed for quite awhile, but
recently reopened. However, I avoid the malls like the plague, anyway.
Masks are now required at our Wegmans... but not gloves...
Masks will be required when I start doing ham radio license exam
sessions again, and while I'll provide gloves to the examiners, the examinees will have to bring their own gloves.
There's plenty of news... but one can certainly use a little bit of
humor amongst it all...
Too little to laugh at nowadays.
I couldn't believe the bizarre story last week, where a woman in the Ukraine was denied access into a Post Office, because she didn't have
a mask on. So, she took off her pants, then her panties, and used the panties as a mask (I'm not making that up). I'm surprised she didn't
take her shirt and bra off as well (to be momentarily nude), and use
the bra to hold the panties on.
Welcome back... and hope it sticks this time... :) I note that this
one is dated 31 May, along with a bunch more, and then gradually there
are current messages... I'll be answering only a few at a time, probably... :)
Yup, and Cristobal is spreading some remnants up here at the moment...
we got extreme heat today, and there's some chance of showers and
T-storms overnight tonight... and tomorrow is supposed to be MUCH cooler... from 93 today to only 76 or so for a high tomorrow.... ;)
Well, schools and colleges did close for the rest of the school year,
and now there's discussion about reopening or not in the fall... A lot
of stuff is still closed here, too, although we are slowly getting some things reopened....
By then, maybe things will be happening again... social distancing
might make square dancing a little weird, too... <G>
So do I... so I've not even really been paying attention to whether
they were open or closed....
Masks are now required at our Wegmans... but not gloves...
I figure that gloves are more a choice item, whether or not to use...
Too little to laugh at nowadays.
Just have to look harder, I guess.... ;)
At least she was resourceful... ;) Guess she was able to hook the
panties around her ears and keep them on that way... ;) She might have used her bra similarly, too... (G)

I'm more than that, so you win. :)
And then that message didn't make it to Barry until I sent it again....
I did get caught up, but then 4 message packets didn't make it to
him... I'm resending them a packet at a time now.... and 10 days later than the original send... eventually it will all even out...
hopefully... <G>

Well, my late Mom's computer hadn't got much usage for nearly 2
years... it's good that it has "found a new life". As for slow
answering, there are other things in life besides BBSing. <G>

For the most part, Arkansas was unscathed...we got heavy rain and
gusty winds, but no tornadoes that I'm aware of. It was in the 50s here overnight, and I had to put the heat on.

I'm not sure if the schools will open this fall or not...but
Governor Asa Hutchinson said we'd move to Phase 2 with the restaurants, etc. on June 15.
By then, maybe things will be happening again... social distancing
might make square dancing a little weird, too... <G>
I wouldn't mind dancing with a mask and gloves on. I could dance
without touching hands, but so many more dancers don't know the definitions that well.
So do I... so I've not even really been paying attention to whether

I wear my mask and gloves when I go out, but with staying at home
until I start driving again, I don't worry about it.

I have to see what the library will require.
Too little to laugh at nowadays.
Just have to look harder, I guess.... ;)

Well, I fixed the QWK and REP mail issue (bad command line with the archivers), but I only access the BBS for mail once a day.
