• SBBSecho v3

From Accession@454:1/1 to Digital Man on Mon Apr 18 12:00:00 2016
    Hello Digital Man,

Just upgraded to the new sbbsecho, and ran into a couple things I figure I'd le
you know about before I forget.

    1) sbbsecho_upgrade.js doesn't seem to transfer over echolist stuff properly. I
put my (HUB) node number as the PATH/NAME, and the actual path/filename as an reafix key (it did (correctly) transfer over the old areafix tag to the key als , but I then had two entries there). I fixed this manually but still have my sb secho.cfg.old if you'd like to test it.

    2) Feature request: If at all possible, could I get some kind of SORT option fo
my node/link entries in echocfg (which is what put them all out of any kind of order in the first place)? Something that would sort by zone, then net, node, a d point in that order would be excellent! I'm just a stickler for neatness in c nfig files.. which you've done a great job at so far. :)

Thanks for your time, and thanks for revamping sbbsecho. So far so good!

    Regards,
    Nick

I think I found the problem and fixed it. It was only a problem if you had a configuration that did *not* forward areafix requests to your hub.

    Sure, I'll look into it.

Thanks for your time, and thanks for revamping sbbsecho. So far so good!

Cool glad to hear. And thanks for the bug report.

That sounds like exactly what was happening. I'm not sure as to why I don't do his for Fidonet (I definitely should and it has been changed now), but for Agor net I am the hub and so don't need to forward requests. So I think I just kept hat the same toggle across all networks.

Thanks. I had a nice manually created sbbsecho.cfg for years, and then I starte
using echocfg which moved things all over the place, and oddly added some rand m nodes that I don't have configured anywhere (ie: 46:46/1 or something when I nly use nets 1-3, and some other randoms I didn't understand.. but also didn't ffect any mail moving). I removed any oddball link addresses before I fired up bbsecho v3 for the first time, so hopefully that doesn't happen anymore.

But yeah, being able to sort your "Nodes" section would be awesome. Even listin
them in echocfg gets confusing because I have Fidonet addresses in between Ago anet addresses, etc.

Thanks for your time, and thanks for revamping sbbsecho. So far so
    good!

Cool glad to hear. And thanks for the bug report.

Of course, and better yet.. thanks for the fix!

    Nick

I didn't encounter anything like you did when upgrading.. So I may not need to pgrade just yet (unless the 'fix' is something actually wrong with sbbsecho).
