I love love my hobby of songwriting. Been doing it since I was in my teenage years. I haven't been the best singer, but hopefully most are able to deal with that part! Entered in numerous song contests and came out with a few awards - nothing earth-shattering, but fun just the same.

You can find me out on all the streaming services under "Michael Newkirk" or you can hop over to mikenewkirk.info to see some of the work I've done.
All recorded over the last year or so, but some of those songs were developed in the 80s. Some developed as recent as three weeks ago ;-)

Hopefully someday, someone with a good voice will want the song!

I think it was Neil Diamond was initially just a songwriter,
and only later was encouraged to be a singer.

    Tuning into the Spotify channel..

Beer, Chips, Ammo and Me ..reminds me of Dwight Twilley band.

    Eight-Bit Dude ..excellent. I think there's a whole untapped
    market for retro computer-themed songs!

I like the musical intro + atmosphere you created in Every
Light. But the vocals could be deeper/bluesyier, imho.

Forever ..nice tune. The vocals would work better if you didn't
sing hard on the beat, but instead smooth it out, relax, and
    meld with the meloncholy theme.

The Stand/I'll Be Right Here ..kinda sounds a bit like the
    storyteller Al Stewart.

I'll Remember ..pretty good! But again, I think it would work
better if you relaxed on the lyric delivery, smooth out the
phrasing, and not sing hard on the beat. I like the tones you
introduce at around 4:28 and build up. It creates a nice epic
    colour.

That's a far as I got on my modest mobile data connection.
Spotify can suck up quite a bit of bit of data if I am not
    mindful.

BTW.. how does the Spotify exposure work? Do you have to pay
anything to get your material streaming?

Hopefully someday, someone with a good voice will want the
    song!

I hear great potential in other artists trying their own
    version with your tunes.

Thanks, as far as Christian Music goes, "Revelation" is my most complex song. It sounded AWESOME live - not as great on the recorded version, but still impressive - although there is a track error that occurred at the very beginning of the composition.

I need to re-record another one 'Lord's Revolution'
at least vocally - and re-master.

Thanks - another one I really had fun with - although SAM on it is from 16-bit days... 8-bit no one would be able to understand.

That's a really special song to me about Beaverton, OR. Thanks for the insight on the vocal delivery. Not that talented yet LOL

Hardest song to record - not only because of tempo change, but it was about a death of a close friend. Very hard to deliver, bought paid off on the feeling of the electric guitar - it speaks IMHO. Thanks much for the input on all these. And really glad 'I'll Remember' struck a good feel ;-) Good talking to you again!
