• Silo (Wool)?

From Abbub@21:2/145 to All on Mon May 8 08:14:35 2023
Anybody watching the 'Silo' show on Apple TV? Based on Hugh Howie's 'Wool' ¨books? I remember enjoying the books when I read them a few years back. It'll ¨be interesting to see how they translate to television. I'm not sure who's ¨working on it, but I'm a *little* wary because I thought the translation from ¨book to TV for the Foundation series that Apple TV had was pretty meh.

Ok, wow, I loved Wool when it was coming out - I'm going to check this out tonight and then get back with some thoughts. Thanks for the tip!

    ok, watched the first episode.
I have to say, pretty faithful from what I recall and not bad pacing.

    What I didn't like:

    1. The central stair for the Silo - the real one was wrapped around
the outside and the silo was much smaller than the show
    2. Paper - paper was like gold and they even mention that but then they casually use paper for pads and notes and to wrap food
    3. Space - there is just way too much space in the show, but ok

    What I did like:

    1. Faithfullness to the story - it's following it pretty well
    2. Runners - the runners are there moving stuff up and down
    3. Size - that it takes a day to get to the lowest levels

I'm ready for the next two episodes now.
