My Apple II collection is a bit more modest. I have an Apple II, and a Royal II (Japanese clone, complete with Japanese keyboard). AFAIK, both work, except for the PSU. I also have a pair of 5.25" drives, a
Microsoft Z80 Softcard, 80 column text card and a PAL TV modulator for
the Apple (since it's built for the Australian market).

Nice Apple II. I have a Apple //e here with a SD Card Drive. Also a very interesting computer system.

Did you get yourself a copy of the game Nox Archaist for the Apple II? Great Ultima IV style game.

    Regards
    Andreas

No, I've never been a gamer.

    Apple II...Forever...

hmmm, if you/someone else is serious about that, I have two spare Apple II PSU units to give away...not the original ones, but the ones produced by Reactivemicro... I did buy them for my Amstrad, but they did not work for that purpose (at least not in my hands)...so shame to have them in the shelf. Get in touch, will donate them to a true Apple 2 fan for the shipping costs :-) (I'm in Europe though, so easier if the true Apple 2 fan is a European one)

    ... Say goodnight

Hmm I believe in Oz we could use at least two. VK3JED has a need for a II+, ¨I also need one for a Clone+. Those things weren't terribly cheep, happy to ¨spring for shipping and help defray your costs.

What was the problem with the Amstrad, obviously power :P But voltage ¨requirements? +12, 5 and -12, 5??

    Hi Spectre,

the problem with the Amstrad I could never really solve. The Voltages come out just fine (and I tested them)), and the 63W were borderline for the Amstrad but should have done it. Better you check the Power supply before you attach it, just to be sure. I have a suspicion that is has to do how the Apple II power supply bridges the 0V, that seems different to the IBM world.

Let me know were to post them (i.e. through a private message)

Ponder been a while, I don't check in here to often. Only just found this buried in the past. The A2 supply is really just a super early switchmode supply. It doen't have to many foibles in the 0 crossings, but what you can
run foul of, is all the voltage regulation is done from the 5v rail. If
there's insufficient load on it, the rest will be all over the place. That
said PC supplies so long as they still provide all the right voltages are easier to work with. I've had an ATX 1.0 supply powering Clone+ but I have to sit it outside the case :/

If you come across this throw me a line, sysop@tlp.zapto.org...

    Hi Spec,

admittedly, this has been some time. Have been logged in BBSess from time to time, but never did a global message scan ;-) Love this slow communication - such a contrast to the rest of the computing world.
I still have the remake of the Apple II power supply unused in the
shelf :-) Run my Amstrad with a AT power supply on which I soldered on the unusual Amstrad DIN plug.. works fine ever since ,-) Get in touch if you're still after the power supply, or for another slow motion message exchange,
    that is ;-)
    Cheers,
    MR

Woah blast from the past. Still good timing, I've only resurfaced after a couple of months in the wilderness. Always happy to snarf an A2 supply. AT supplies are nice generic beasts you can bend to most "projects"
