Subject: Power Supply for the A500 Mini...
Everything I've come across says to use at least a 2 Amp USB power module. Just ordered a 3 Amp phone charger charger. Getting a pair of them with 4 connectors.
My question is with a 3-3.1 Amp power module...is there any danger of frying anything like the A500...RPi 3B+ or to recharge a phone?

Nope more is better than less.

Thought so. Have had issues in the past of trying to power some of these ARM boards from a PC USB port or a power brick "supposedly" able to handle the requirements.

I have a 30 amp Mass charger brick I will
eventually make into a project box. Eventually going to make a Mass battery
pack with it so I can run multiple USB devices at once. Pi's and other fun toys while on the go.

Want to get my CD-10 Mini mod complete to try a project I came across earlier from "Retro Recipes" of her building something called a Callisto retro. Was interesting...but also came across the plans to build a mini-PET with working screen running RetroPie. Instead of using an RPi 3+ I have...thought about using a RPi Zero W to run emulators up to the late 90's...like the N64 & on up.

Even thought about using some of the wood filament I have to make the case out of wood. Be a one of a kind of retro no one else has. Would be different.

I got hold of a "standard" 5v 5A supply and wired a USB-A socket onto it to power my piZero and assorted stuff hanging off it. 2x Cameras and a thermometer, on a USB hub. I found the nominal 2.1A wall warts would struggle... it also struggled supplying enough 5v straight the on board USB ports too.. so wired the hub directly into the power supply as well..

Not sure about USB3 ports but 1s and 2s only supply the regular 500mA per
    port.

    The ideal way to go is if a device say's 3amp required, get a 4amp. If it say's 2amp's get a 3amp.

Exactly what I did. They said 2 Amp...so went with 3.

That gives the power supply breating room so to speak, and it's not
working at max capacity to supply the requred amp's. The best idea is to
not push the psu past 80% capacity.

    Thank you for the info.

Exactly what I've found in the past. At least going with the POE HAT on the 3B+...never had the issue. Never had the power issue on the 400 kit either.
