• Upgrade from a39 to a46 failure

From 8-Bit@21:2/133 to All on Wed Dec 16 12:15:26 2020
I haven't updated my version of Mystic in a while and I believe I followed
the instructions as best as I could but when trying to run Mystic in daemon mode (linux 64-bit), I get two errors now.

ERROR: Directory does not exist: "/mystic/menus/"
ERROR: Directory does not exist: "/mystic/text/"

I know those are now moved to /mystic/themes/default/ but not sure how I can manually change this? I can run mystic from the command line as well a mystic -cfg. Running upgrade shows success and database is to version a46.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you haven't made any changes to the files in those directories I would install a copy of Mystic to a temporary directory and copy those files from /mystic/themes/default/menus/ and text and scripts to your working directory.

If you have modified any of those files have a look at the changes and move them as will if needed.

There are a few files added and changed to those dirs, so that's why I say install to a temporary directory and have a look.

Thanks for the reply. During the upgrade, it deleted the originals and moved copies into the new home. I can copy them to the /mystic root folder but I am assuming it will break on the next upgrade. I don't see the options in the Config area so hoping there is a method I can just manually update a data
file. I do have a backup of the original installation and a fresh install of a46. Like I said, preference is to somehow change the file path to the
correct location otherwise I may have to just copy them to the old location
    for now.

No, I really didn't modify the originals much outside of the prelogin screen.

If I remember right, when I updated to a version with the new theme directories the upgrade moved those directories for me. But maybe I don't remember right, maybe I moved them myself, I'm not sure now.. :)

It moved them into the themes directory, yes but it didn't update the
database itself. The database removed those two options and changed it to the theme directory location instead which is correct but it is still looking for text/menus in the root of the mystic folder.

Did you jump via A44 first? A44 sets up the new folder structure and other stuff prior to going to A45/6/7

I think it was/is documented in the upgrade.txt file, but if you missed it, that may be the source of your issues.

I thought I did but I will check it. Is it something I can backtrack and
    still do?

Other thing I noticed today when looking at the error log is I get the following message, MYSTIC 001 Cannot write to /mystic/data/chat1.dat. Code=2.
I also get it with 002 / chat2.dat. Neither file is created in the data
    folder.

Apparently I did miss this so I went back and redid these. Works great and I also don't get the missing chat1.dat file error as it has showed up.

Only other question, based on what I can tell, the new version supports to email? Is there a way to test once the settings are in the config area?

    Thanks for the help!
