• ARJ not working?

From Zip@21:1/202 to All on Sat Sep 12 06:31:36 2020
    Hi everyone!

I just noticed that viewing of ARJ archives, and FILE_ID.DIZ imports from ARJ archives, doesn't seem to work in my installation of Mystic.

I'm using the "arj" package in Debian 10:

    bbs@glimmer:~$ apt-show-versions | grep arj
    arj:amd64/buster 3.10.22-18 uptodate

    bbs@glimmer:~$ which arj
    /usr/bin/arj

    bbs@glimmer:~$ arj -v
    ARJ32 v 3.10, Copyright (c) 1998-2004, ARJ Software Russia.

    Archive name argument missing
    bbs@glimmer:~$

My Archive Editor Setup for ARJ in Mystic looks like this:

    Active ³ Yes
    Extension ³ ARJ
    OS ³ All
    Description ³ ARJ32 ARJ Utilities
    Pack Cmd ³ arj a -e -y "%1" "%2"
    Unpack Cmd ³ arj e -e -y -w "%3" "%1" "%2"
View Cmd ³ (empty, as for other archive types, too)

Is ARJ working for you? If so, what does your setup look like?

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards
    Zip

I have the same issue with ARJ. I am also interested in an answer if there is one.

negate some bug that could be in a pre-alpha still running.

I'm not seeing them through Mystic here, but if I read them via the NNTP server, they are showing up. So there is something in the kludge lines that
    are not quite right.

I just wish I could reply to a message from ThunderBird using NNTP. Every
time I try, I get a message asking if I want to subscribe to '2140'
conference. That just happens to be the message number... I'm still trying to figure that one out...

I'm seeing the numbers occasionally through Mystic too but not on my SBBS point. For instance your lucky number on this one was 134. This is just while logged in and using the normal message reader, no NNTP.

I've checked the ones I've spotted against the headers for each message and there seems to be a pattern. Each number would "fit in" where a node number is missing at the end of a seen-by kludge. The line also contains a variable quantity of whitespace after the number.

    eg:

Yep, no issues on my BBBS. No problems on my own Mystic 1.12 A46 Linux/64 also. That makes me wonder if it is a windows issue but
    This thread was hijacked! :)

What happened to original post this thread was asking about? Anyone answer why ARJ is not working on Mystic?

    Cheers?

    Opps!

What happened to original post this thread was asking about? Anyone answer why
ARJ is not working on Mystic?

I haven't seen any answers and I am not sure just how well ARJ works with Mystic since I haven't seen an ARJ archive in yonks.

I keep unarj and unrar here for those times when I need to unpack and ARJ or RAR archive.
