in Mytic Software (Message Base Editor).

Those setting come into play when you pack and purge your message base with those options with mutil. The purge function will mark messages older than max msg age for deletion and messages over max msgs also. You need to pack the message base after that and messages marked for deletion, or messages you have deleted yourself will be removed from the message base.

How many messages you want in the message base by setting a total maximum number, e.g. the most recent 5000 messages

-Max Msg Age

How many message you want in the message base by age expressed as days since the message arrived e.g. keep messages up to 90 days old.

If you don;t want to use either setting then set them to 0 and Mystic will
not purge any messages when you run the relevant MUTIL functions.
