Use apache. You can proxy to mystic's webserver, and have subdomains.

How does one do that, i.e. set up a web server that proxies another one? I know how to set up a page and add a link, but I think that just hands the connection off from one server to another.

You use an extension for apache called mod_proxy, then in your apache configuration you set it up to proxy through to another webserver.

on my bbs, everything under /bbs/ gets proxied to magicka, but you can
do it with the root as well.

Apache is a pretty monsterous beast - Personally, I'd look into nginx or Caddy for this task. They are both dead simple to configure for subdomains and the like. Caddy (maybe nginx at this point?) has the advantage of built in ACME clients so you can get Let's Encrypt going (if needed) with almost zero effort.

Yeah, I only use apache because it's what I've always used and know how
    to use it.

The main reason I'm still using windows is because I don't want to
configure apache on my linux box. I'll look into Caddy today though
    maybe it is the answer.
