    Hello Apam,

I have qt5 built and installed on my desktop now. That is in addition to
the stock qt4 that ships with Slackware

After running qmake and make I get the error QTcpSocket: no such file...

Looking at the makefile there are references to /usr/lib64/qt and those
will point to slackware's default qt4 stuff. Is there a way (when running
qmake perhaps, to tell the build to use /usr/lib64/qt5?

    Ttyl :-),

I'm not familiar with slackware, but I wonder if you're running the
right qmake? could it be you're running qmake for qt4?

Right I was. I ran the qmake from qt5 and got further but still problems.
I'll put that on the back burner and get back to it later.
