This'd have to be my first message since December some time looking at the message base.

Ahh the fun and joyous times of moving, trying to get some renovations done, and trying to accommodate my Mother. Moving really went pretty well, can't much complain there although the fridge decided it was to much and gave up
    the ghost.

Started looking for renovation action come early January, and we're still waiting for a lot of stuff to begin. Most seem to be on 6-8 weeks from order to delivery, services or goods. Ensuite reno for an older person. Replace
the garage door with a set of windows and turn half of it into an "office" while the other half becomes an extra bedroom. Even a shade sail over the driveway apron.

Been waiting on some things to get other stuff done too. Been wanting to
move the phone point, at present its buried in a bedroom which of course is
the one that my Mother has. But until we get the garage door done, not much point starting any of the partition work and without that no point getting a sparky out to do the extra lights and power points out there, and move that phone socket.

Been a lot of hurry up and wait...

    Hey

    I hear ya...!
I grew up in a renovate and move family :D
My wife on the other hand, not so... She always told me that she would never live in a house undergoing renovation...

So when we got our first house together, we built! That came with some minor headaches, but nothing we couldn't handle...

We just sold our house after living in it for seven and a half years and are moving into a smaller cottage on 1.5 acres of matured cottage gardens...

The house is probably 80+ years old, needs to be re-stumped, raised higher up to allow water & air to pass under it, needs to get a new roof in the next
5-10 years, and that's the major ticket items...

There are many many smaller projects that will also need to happen...
Renovate laundry, toilet, entrance, re-do the electrical, new decking, etc.

Going from fibre to the premises to fixed wireless (private, not NBN) - gonna be a challenge - as a preparation - I relocated all my essential services (Exchange, file server, BBS, NextCloud, etc) to a private datacentre on my
own hardware under my control (because I'm like that)... So when I move, the disconnection of services won't prevent my critical systems from functioning.

I'm looking forward to the new place, we plan on doing a food forest,
becoming beekeepers, getting quad bikes for the daughters to learn to ride in the scrub, etc.

Lots of stuff already undertaken to get the process going and so much more to do... I have a constant headache just from all the paperwork and trying to
get & keep everything lined up!

Like I did in our current house, will need to get Ethernet, home theater cabling, mounted WiFi APs, security cameras, etc all mounted at the next
house! I will do as much as I can myself like I did here, but due to time limits, I might need to employ some help locally too...

    Life knows no limits!

Moving is always a challenge. Where to put all your stuff in the new place.

Yup they tend to make it when you order it
