It's very scary the things you hear when you play music backwards. Does it scare you in any way? :-P

I'd heard of people playing records backwards, but these days it's more difficult to play music backwards.

Nope. I like to listen to country music backwards.
Because, in the song, you get your dog, truck and girl back.

I prefer to listen to my music frontwards. I don't think I've ever played it backwards, so no it doesn't scare me at all.

Steve Vai did a song called "In my Dreams with you" back in the '90s.
They filmed the video backwards, with lots of weird effect like
bottles un-breaking, etc.

We had a crack in Yr11 at high school... Stairway to Heaven... while it
Its probably easier to play digital data backwards than it was to play vinyl backwards....
I had a prospective father in law that messed around
with that kind of thing for a while... I think the biggest finding he had, was the only word played backwards that came out to mean anything was "Cuff".. I'll let you figure that one out :)

A crack in Yr11? I don't know what that means..?
Yeah, in some ways. I was thinking it might be easier to play vinyl backwards if there are anu turntables that will turn in reverse. But
with an MP3 file or other audio file, you'd have to load it into an
audio editor in a computer and tell it to play backwards, or reverse it and play it. But on a regular MP3 player, car stereo, etc., there's typically no option to play your music files backwards.
You have to watch Amish Paradise, which is a parody video of a popular hip-hop song. THe end sequence was filmed in reverse. The guy did the signing in reverse and walked in reverse and still managed to make it semi-beliveable :-)

Ah, yes! Good ol' Weird Al!
That was one of the first "Weird Al" music videos I watched. It was played on the "Afternoon show" on TV after school one day. Actually, "Smells like Teen spirit" may have been the first.

Ha! That was the first Weird Al video I watched, too! Not the first song
I heard, though, I had one of his albums. It has been too long (I was
10), and I can't remember the name of it. But it had a few good songs.
One of them was even a Weird Al original!

I guess I go way back. Dr. Demento used to have a syndicated radio show
on Sunday nights, and played novelty songs and comedy records. Weird Al was just Al back then, and he sent in tapes he'd made in the bathroom
of the dorms he lived in at Cal Poly University - just him and the accordion. The first was "My Bologna", a parody of The Knack's "My Sharona".

Dr. Demento was the best, as a teen I listened every Sunday night. In
fact he played a song called Shaving Cream done in like 1949 and Cousin Brucie a NY based Jock (I am sure everyone has heard of him) made a tape of it and played it on WNBC NY and it became a top 10 hit in the mid
70's! It was so popular that the original cut was re-issued and the original singer even added in a new verse to it.. God I have so much useless info in my head!!

I do remember that song "They're Coming To Take Me Away" which I heard
on the radio here in Australia, and never heard again until I found it
on Limewire or WinMX, and was credited to Dr Demento.
Never knew who he was until I heard a mention of him on the Simpsons,
then saw him later in some documentary.

were annoyed I'd be up that late on a school night.
Apparently I was not alone in having hostile parents:
Despite his mother having caught Yankovic listening to Dr. Demento's program and
banning him from listening to it again in the future, he found ways to hear it discreetly.
