Steve Vai did a song called "In my Dreams with you" back in the '90s.
They filmed the video backwards, with lots of weird effect like
    bottles un-breaking, etc.

In order to film it, Devin Townsend had to lip-sync the song --
backwards. There's an interview where he sings one of the stanzas
backwards, and it sounds exactly like it would sound if you spun a
    record backwards.

There are some songs which sound weird played backwards. I was once shown one which when played backwards sounded like "Let's worship Satan" in Spanish.

I don't remember the title but I found it funny back in the day.

Yeah, in some ways. I was thinking it might be easier to play vinyl backwards if there are anu turntables that will turn in reverse. But with an MP3 file or other audio file, you'd have to load it into an audio editor in a computer and tell it to play backwards, or reverse it and play it. But on a regular MP3 player, car stereo, etc., there's typically no option to play your music files backwards.

I had heard the name a bit when I was young, but I wasn't quite sure exactly what he was. Maybe he was just some guy that everyone knew? A comedian? After seeing a few parodies it became clear that he did a few, but later on I found his CD's at a second hand CD store and started buying them. Only then did I realise that he made a living doing not only parodies, but original comedy songs and was more than just some cameo character.

Despite his mother having caught Yankovic listening to Dr. Demento's program and banning him from listening to it again in the future, he found ways to hear it discreetly.

In 1976, Dr. Demento spoke at Yankovic's school, where the then 16-year old Yankovic gave him a homemade take of original and parody songs performed on the accordion in Yankovic's bedroom into a "cheesy little tape recorder." The tape's first song, "Belvedere Cruisin" - about his family's Plymouth Belvedere - was played on Demento's comedy radio show, launching Yankovic's career.

Fortunately...when the Dr. went to Westwood One...the show was syndicated to stations on CD in the '80's. One station I worked at which covered the show...would run it on Wednesday nights. Others would run it whenever they wanted.

Tried to get those CD's...since stations at the time would just junk them & the vinyl other shows came on. Remember having a stack of American Top 40 & such I was allowed to take home after the show...since they took up space needed.

Before that...thought it was great on Sunday nights. 1st time I heard it...was on from Sunday nites from 10-12 AM on 104 FM-KOFM in Oklahoma City. Note on this station...they got sold...changed format & call letters. We all thought that was the craziest thing not to keep those call letters.

Remember during the show...one of the sponsors was a store called Magnolia Thunderpu$$y's. Just looking it up...they are still in business. Means it was a national ad sell for the program.

Even had a college professor who appeared in the TV commercials for KOFM. He eventually moved from Oklahoma back to Kentucky.

Despite his mother having caught Yankovic listening to Dr. Demento's program and
banning him from listening to it again in the future, he found ways to hear it discreetly.

Wasn't my parents who cared...but tried like crazy to get an FM radio in the mid-70's. At the time being a teenager...buying an FM radio was a luxury item. Now...I've 3D printed FM radios from modules I've ordered from China. How times have changed.
