From poindexter FORTRAN@21:4/122 to All on Mon Feb 14 08:43:00 2022
My powerline network has been acting up recently. I'd run my network for several years on Powerline, with one for my office, one for the BBS and one for a Roku. I replaced the office segment with a pair of ethernet runs, and was able to extend my wireless upstairs over the ethernet, so I could get
rid of all of the powerline adapters - except the BBS, which was sitting in
    my storage space.

My powerline adapters have been flaking out, so I cleared out some room in
my homelab, dug out the BBS box and have it running in my office, where I
can actually see the keyboard and monitor for the first time in over ten years. The BBS has been running in various out of the way storage spaces all this time.

I had it running in my office for a couple of hours and heard a beep coming from the BBS box. Looked at the screen, and a new user had paged me to chat!
I haven't done that for YEARS.

Alas, this is temporary. Now that I'm on gig ethernet between the BBS and my home lab, I'm going to migrate the BBS from Windows to a Linux guest I have running in my homelab, and eventually move it to a VPS.
