• Help me to code a brand new client

From Nicola Mettimano@21:4/183 to All on Wed Mar 15 00:50:42 2023
Hi guys, I'm trying to make a new telnet/SSH client, it would be an alternative to syncterm/netrunner; a modern project (in fact it's called jaac - Just an anachronistic client ?) free and open sources, constantly under development.
I'm not an experienced programmer but I know a little bit about Godot/GDScript and I already wrote the Telnet connection part.
If anyone wants to help me this is the github link: https://github.com/Nikoh77/jaac

I'm also rather inexperienced. I would however like to see a term with more modern features. Like board specific autologon. A directory listing in a separate window. Possibly an options for plugins or scripting similar to how TWX does it but without being tied to one game. I would use it for some sysop automation or even a bot to do repetitive tasks for me. If this at all sounds interesting I would like to help. I only know how to code a little in python 3. If you want advice or layout ideas how to stand out let me know. I would be happy to chat about it some time.

Hello, any help would be appreciated, you can examine my code on github and propose/make a pull request.
For first we need to have client work, later we can improve it with plugins

I'm sorry, I don't code much, but I wish you luck. A new, modern Telnet client would be nice thing to have. A nice modern ANSI editor that works in Windows would be great too.

There is Moebius, is a great and modern ANSI editor...

Oh yeah, I forgot about Mobius. I am using it now and it's pretty good.

... APPLE: It may be slow, but at least it's expensive.

Both SyncTerm and NetRunner are modern and actively developed.

    Moebius? PabloDraw?

Not new, but TheDraw still works fine too.
