The NX430 Manual doesn't have any information about replacing the
    Document Cover.

I didn't see anything on-line either but I'm thinking: think back to when you whipped the cover off... did you maybe do it at a low angle? Maybe it fits in/on at a slight angle or within a certain allowable range. Do you remember how you did it on the day? Might help...?

I hadn't thought of seeing if YT had any help there for RE-inserting the Document Cover on a Epson NX430.
YT might be of help sometimes, but I haven't thought looking there. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Again for taking the effort for me.

I have tried to replace it at different angles.

Both Hinges have pins on both ends of them.
I will take a look at it with a magnifying glass and see if there is a
Guide to help correctly place the Document Cover Hinges back into the unit.

Haste makes waste. But of course, I haven't hurried doing that job.

You may not find replacement hinges or parts easily for these all-in-one printers. These printers are made so cheaply that you may find its better just to find a replacement NX430 on Ebay if you really like that printer model.

I see a complete NX430 going for roughly $70cdn plus shipping.

The plastic Hinges on the back of the Document Cover aren't broken, I just can't figure out how to replace that thing.

    Howdy,

Paul, today I held my mouth in the correct way and the Document Cover is back in place on the Epson NX430 AIO Printer/Scanner.

Thanks to You and also Nick and Mike for the suggestions to help me repair
    this unit.

    What I did is:
I put the Right Hinge in place first, and then I tried "Very Carefully" to gently bend the Document Cover but it wouldn't let me get the Left Hinge into the slot.

I don't see that Black wedge shape on the side of the Scanners Preview window anymore. Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I put the Left Hinge in place first, and then tried "Very Carefully" to gently bend the Document Cover and got the Left Hinge to go in to its slot.

I try to keep sane in this room when I'm using the computer(s) and stay away from that "IN" Crowd.

    "IN" as in insane crowd. <G R I N>

I'm glad to be able to get Technical Help from People that are BBS Users and are more knowledgeable than I'll ever get to be.

    Thanks All!

    Howdy!,

    I have a Epson NX430 all in one printer/scanner.

A long tme ago I raised the Document Cover to Scan something and the
Cover came off of the unit.

I have tried and tried again and again to put the Hinges back in the
two slots at the back but never have been able to get both of them in correctly.

The last time I tried one of the Hinges got all the way down in its slot,
the other Hinge stayed up about 1/8 inch, and when I scan a small piece
of paper I can see a Black wedge shape mark on the Left side of the
    Preview Screen.

The NX430 Manual doesn't have any information about replacing the Document Cover.

I tried again some yesterday and decided to submit a Comment to Epson Support. The answer I got from Epson is to take it to a Epson Service Shop.

Their closest Shop is 70 miles from where I live, so I thought to write here about my problem because I can read BBS messages sitting in my home.

    Thanks for reading.
