Ah. What I was using for plain downloading and what would suit that task is a tool called SimpleScreenRecorder. (All one word.) It's a Linux app. The name

I haven't known of that one, I will look it up, Thanks!.

I see August has a link to it in his message to You.
I will grab it and try it out.

I like going to Links recommended by other folks here.

(Except maybe on April 01st, then I'd think I would have to be very careful.) Sorta like the old Packard Automobile slogan: "Ask the man who owns one."

Lot of the programs I use regularly were mentioned in a BBS message,
or in Comments on web pages I like to read, like: askleo.com and askwoody.com .

I believe the Comments on both of those web pages are Moderated before they
get posted in their Comment section's.
Knowing that helps make me trust going to Links I see on those pages.

I haven't used Web Of Trust for years.
Avast used to mark Search Results in Green that could be trusted, but since that article saying they sold the info their users Searched for I haven't
seen any Green, Gray or Red marks on DuckDuckGo Search Results pages lately.

I really miss that. To me that was a very desired 'Feature' Avast had.

On one web page, I see on Firefox's Status Bar it is trying to get

Sounds like You've had better luck than I've had on those Vimeo videos.

Is that the same app as you're trying?

I hadn't downloaded any Vimeo App, what I saw about Vimeo waa on Firefox's Status Bar while the Web Page was starting up that the Church I attend has.

I hadn't tried viewing their videos on that Web Page, I've just used
Video DownloadHelper to grab some of them.

I also have FlashGot but haven't had success using FlashGot at all, so I
only use Video DownloadHelper when I want to try grabbing a video.

I did try to view the Easter Service on their Facebook page but got an error when I tried to watch it the other day.
But I have used Video DownloadHelper to grab some of those videos.

Those I grabbed on the Web Page have the .MP3 Extension and are larger files than the .MP4 files I've grabbed on their FaceBook page.

Actually, I hadn't got my ROUNDTUIT yet to try watching any of those D/L's. Someday I will... You know how that is.

I guess Video DownloadHelper doesn't show Links to the Videos that are on

    What is OBS?

    Open Broadcaster Software

yes, i stream a little bit from time to time ;)

I've been messing around with OBS here and there. I used it to stream me playing on my Atari Jaguar for like 15 minutes. It was shockingly easy to figure out, and if it wasn't for my piss poor internet upstream (256kb) I probably would of made it a regular thing. Just for fun, even if no one was watching. (If you're wondering, I tapped into the video/audio from my Jaguar to a USB composite capture device ($15 on amazon), and of course had my webcam going to capture me picking my nose)

I also use OBS to record playing Dungeons and Dragons online with some friends. System recorded stream from Roll20 and Discord and saved the raw output to HDD.

When I get the time I'm gonna have to figure out how to use editing software like Premiere.

I don't know what to tell You.

I got ESR 52.9.0 after I clicked the Help tab and then click the
About Firefox option and clicked the Button to check for Updates a VERY LONG time ago.

That button isn't shown in the About Firefox window anymore when I click
that option on the Help tab.

Firefox doesn't care to supply further Updates for the XP OS anymore though folks like You and Me still use their XP computers.

Firefox often Crashes on me and what I was doing vanishes from the screen
and the Mozilla Crash Reporter window comes on the screen.
I just click to tell it to Restart Firefox again.

Many Times - Because I have Many Tabs opened - Firefox will be real slow loading pages.

What I do is End the Firefox Task by using the XP Task Manager and then clicking the Firefox Icon in the Quicklaunch section of the Taskbar to
start Firefox again. (I 'think' that has helped Me many times)

When Firefox Opens I see a list showing the Title on all of the Tabs I have opened.

If I think the last web page I was at caused the slow down, I click on the Checkmark by that Name so that Tab won't show up anymore when I Restore
Firefox when I click the [Restore] Button below the List.

Lately I have been clicking the Crash Reporter button to see the Details
of the Crash and then I Click in that area and press Alt - A and then
Alt - C to Copy what's in there.

Next I open WordPad and Alt-V (Paste) all of that text and then Save it
with the File Name "FirefoxCrash-YYYYMMDD.rtf" .

I have looked at those text files some but haven't been able to learn
what caused the Crash from reading what I saved.

I'm a Man not a Cat, so curiosity can't kill me from trying to understand what's what in this here computer.

If Firefox ESR 52.8.0 works fine for You I wouldn't bother clicking on the Update Button on the About Firefox window.

What is OBS? And is Captura something like Google's Captcha(?sp) ?

    What is OBS?

    Open Broadcaster Software

it is what many streamers use to capture their various video and sound inputs and broadcast their own TV/radio like broadcasts... if it is a live broadcast, they can even react live to comments their viewers type in the textual chat windows... most streamers are streaming their video games... some stream their programming... others stream operational type training stuff like how to configure a BBS or how to set up a certain program for use...

viewers of the streams can, but are not obligated to, donate real $$$ to the streamer in various ways... there are many streamers that have quit working regular jobs to stream full-time... a lot of them are making a better living then if they were punching a clock plus they are doing something they enjoy... it is all about building a community, having fun, and being entertaining...

yes, i stream a little bit from time to time ;)

I am totally impressed with OBS. Now I understand how a video capture can be interlaced with "scenes" changing from the original capture to an information screen such as a list or an ad or a photo.

Before that, I thought these videos were painstakingly re-edited.

But with OBS, you can create different "scenes" and even different video/audio sources and piece everything together in a new recording.

I watched a couple of streams (or actually YT videos of previous streams) of people playing a computer game. I could not believe the number of views something like that would garnish. With many different repeated videos like that the YT paid out could probably be enough to live on.
