Don't you remember if they told you, back then, to use your real name in Fidonet?

    That's a per-echo rule though, isn't it?

Surely your parents didn't baptise you "poison", did they?

    You never know. :-)

Go easy on him. His message actually conforms with the last-posted moderator rules for this echo (2007). 8-)

Yay! I was following the rules by mistake! I did intend to use real names on fidonet. It's fixed now. 8-)

poison> Does anyone actually still use win95 or 98?

    likely not...

if you're asking because of the echo's tag, it is historical... basically too much juggling, renaming, and adding/removing of areas as each new winwhatever version came out and old ones were retired...

Except for fun. I have an Oracle VM box with Win95, and sometimes use it just for the nostalgia.

It's also fun to use a VM box like that when you get a spam mail telling you that you won a gazillion Euro and only have to pay EUR299 to get it. The spammers seem to be rather surprised when their usual tools don't work... :)

yeah, winwhatever in general... when the echo is even used... the traffic is nowhere near what it was 10+ years ago...

Yes, Win98SE. Short version... one machine currently in a VirtualBx VM that's been running since the early naughties (2004/5?), originally in hardware.

    Cheers,

In here MSDOS emulation sometimes for old games and to run the BlueWave so I can read this stuff like in the old days!!!
I remember long time ago those competitions to see who was the quickest rebuilding the machine with Win95/98 and XP.
