I had seen most TOS episodes first-run in 1966-69, but I never got to see "Turnabout Intruder" until long after TOS had gone into syndication.

And when I finally did see it, "joy" wasn't the emotion I experienced.

My lost episode was This Side of Paradise.

Mine was The Empath. I saw it once when I was very young, but never
again for a long long time. A friend of mine even copied all of the
episodes to VCR when the Sci Fi channel remastered and ran them all.
He (accidentally?) skipped the Empath. So I didn't see it until I
    bought the DVDs.

-By the way, while going through my closet recently, I came across a
-lot of the old audio cassettes from that time. They had long since
-been replaced by my VHS copies taped off the TV, which were in turn
-replaced by the DVD's (with the old special effects and that's the way
-it's staying, dagnab it!), but I played one for old time's sake. It
-was Mirror, Mirror. The telephone, which was near our TV in those
-days, went off twice during it, followed both times by my mother
-having a phone conversation while trying to keep her voice down -(unsuccessfully). And to think how much I loved my tape collection in
    -those days!

MP3 it, lets all have a hear.

Actually, though the payoff was somewhat disappointing, it was a
refreshing change. The sparse sets created an eerie atmosphere. A
failure, to be sure--but an interesting failure.

Uh...that was a law imposed during the Allied occupation. They've just
been slow to abandon it because of the possible reactions from
    neighbours.

    It was?

    Same objection applies.
